Any idea on the best driver to push 5x vero29s 3500k 7th gen?? I was thinking the MW 320h 1750????
I think 1710ma is the optimal current.. If im reading the spec sheet right..
Thanks

I think we all wish we had a DIY friend like you in our lives :o

Im in Germany, trying to figure out purchasing solutions for a DIY COB set up for a 100X100 tent ( not that I feel confident in my building ability, but you gotta start somewhere!) where did you make the majority of your chip and driver purchases? would really appreciate some info in regards to this, and hopefully you know of a good EU source to avoid the 20% VAT :hump:

Also, feel free to send some nug and home-made booze to Germany  haha:D

Nice tent set ups, and new led build. Curious what you're temps are in the flower tent at the plants?
I was surprised by the heat increase but it's manageable. My temps increased by approx 5F, from 72F to 77F. Mine is a 10 cob cxb3590 running at 535 watts over a 4'x4' table in a 9x9x9 room. Heatsinks are warm to the touch and drivers are hot, all within spec

I'm nearly licensed here in the green state of OR. I'll be a Tier II micro producer in a short time and want to maximize output. Can Cutter electronics help me with a package? With 576 COBs needed I want to make sure I'm doing this right the FIRST time. Any guidance appreciated.

Plant density is 0.76sqft/plant.
Room will be sealed and have CO2 generators.
13' high ceilings

I would like to run COB's passively with 60" ceiling fans helping with circulation and an A/C unit to help out in hot summer months. My question is how many COB's per square foot should I aim for and what type/size/driver/ect. Based on the Transformer capacity for my residence I'm running at 90% capacity if I have 48 420w (12 COB) lights. with a COB density of 1 covering approx 1.8 sqft will the CO2 concentration be of little help? Should I just dial back the PPM to a lower number? Due to odor concerns I am set on having the grow sealed and utilize CO2 generation.

@waveman is it hard to get such a license in OR? I might have to move!
lot of ins, lot of outs, lot of facets... Its a royal pain and depending on the county only certain land zone types of certain sizes can even get past the land use permiting phase that includes a public hearing...neighbors were super bummed when after an hour of each one taking their turn to complain it was approved (I was certainly smiling on the inside!)

Have you verified with the power company that your transformer is not shared with your neighbor? That is something that is frequently done.

Right. Because you're such a bad guy, growing a harmless plant.

People bug me sometimes.

Yeah my neighbor across the street is very "anti-marijuana". She would probably have a stroke if she knew what was growing in my garage. Last year when we moved in we were talking with her and there had been a recent shooting in someone's grow (can't remember the details) - her comment about it was "Looks like the Marijuana Wars have started". LOL. Haven't talked with her since.... and there has not been any other incidents of shootings that I've heard of....

Yes I have my own transforer and I turned in my load data sheet to the power company and after I pay $2500 to upgrade my transformer from a 25 to a 50 something or another I will be around 90% of capacity with the 48- 420W lights and other stuff like dehumidifiers, pumps and A/C. I asked if there was another level of transformer if I wanted more power and he said the lines would need upgraded and would cost more than I could afford. Does anyone have any thoughts on my COB density? Please chime in

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you're in over your head. If your goal is to produce seedlings for resale the 0.76ftsq of space per plant might be appropriate. As a Tier II producer you'd be expected to grow to maturity. So that's 21 plants per 4'x4' area. Are you serious?
I'm not even going to address the COB/driver/CO2 questions... my head hurts.

OK, yeah, I am. You've indicated that you're already planning on running 576 COBs at a density of 1.8ftsq per COB which tells me your grow space is a bit over 1000ftsq. You've decided to run the COBs in 48 groups of 12 at 35W per COB but don't have a clue which COBs/drivers to use? Or whether CO2 will be beneficial?

Gaaaaah! I've been dormant for seven months and come back to this? I'm going back to my cave.

And Waveman? You posted this question on Netherfly's build journal.

I ran with this plant density in my 6'x6'x6' tent that had 4-600w HPS air cooled lights and I achieved good results netting 10-12 ounces every 3 weeks (tent divided into 3 16 plant areas) using "stinkbud's" aeroponic system. Plants are vegged only 3 weeks.

I'm asking about CO2 levels because with lower light density CO2 becomes less beneficial. I'm trying to match my current plan of 1.8sqft/COB to the appropriate CO2 levels as to not waste gas charging the room to 1500ppm if my lighting is not going to warrant that.

If I was going to do this grow style I would do a plant density of four per square foot, in 6 inch rockwool cubes, using an ebb and flow tray system and grow 12/12 from seed. Assuming a 1/2 oz per plant (vs the previous 3/4 oz) that's two units per 4x4 area. using your 3 week schedule, that 32 units every 3 weeks. Only question in my mind is whether this sort of system scales up well to 1000 square feet without becoming overly labor intensive.
