140watts of hps enough?

Is 140watts of hps light enough to grow 4 clones all the way through till harvest. I just switched my light source in my grow room from 12 26watt 6500k CFLs to my 2 new 70watt hps lights. I hope that the hps will work for vegetative too, because right now I have 2 Big Bud, and 2 Hindu Kush seedlings 10 days old. My grow box is 2'x3'x4'. The grow box is only 4 feet tall so I have to keep the height of the plants down. Is it okay for me to leave the hps lights on without the glass cover on? My hps lights are outdoor security lights and it has a glass cover to keep the rain out. Thanks in advance.

if possible run some of the cfls on the sides of the plants u will defently notice a dif. compared only to the 2 hps. as far as the glass id leave it in itll keep alot of the heat from the bulbs in the container. what kind of cooling do u have

right now i have 1 fan blowing on the bulbs (right now the glass is off) 1 exhaust fan on top and 1 intake fan coming in from the bottom. Temp~78 + or - 5. Humidity 35-55%. I definitely will put up some daylight cfls around the plants to help vegging.

temps are good. yea the cfls will help alot. u said u got the 70's from lowes how much were they? homedepot only carries 50's 150's and up

I actually did get the 70w lights from homedepot. One was $45 because it was "opened" but never used. And the other brand new one was $60. I know that the prices are way high compared to online prices. But since money isn't a problem for me, I don't really mind. Better to pay a little more and stay stealthy than to order online and have my mom find a hps kit when they deliver. She already caught and busted me on my first grow because I ordered a pH tester online.
