This is my 2nd year of growing, but I still consider myself new. I currently have 1 Kwazulu in its 4th week of flower, 1 Ketama in my flowering tent that is not really flowering yet, and 2 Acapulco gold fem, 1 morning glory fem, 1 kiwi seeds super kush, and 2 reg seeds that are either ketama or kwazulu in my veg box. The kwazulu in flower has been partially lsted as it is still trying to climb. I also have 2 42 watt cfls on the kwazulu for even lighting. The ketama isn't doing well, I think I've been overwatering, and morroco is dry, so I have stopped watering it and am cautiously waiting. I am starting to think it likes drier soil to mimic its natural environment. I will post pics today of both my tent setup and my veg box, I also will post more about my soil, nutes, lighting etc. later as well.

The top of it, the top is actually the furthest right in the string of buds, the planted started to tip because it stretched fast, so I supported it, then tied it to the rear corner tent post, then tied the top over to itself, then two more ties to keep it in a straight line under the light. The lower buds have the two 42 watt cfls on them.

The ketama, it is still somewhat sick, the pot is taking way longer to dry out than the kwazulu, but its better today than 2 days ago.

It is very bushy, I t doesn't seem to be growing taller. I have read that this plant should veg anywhere from 8-12 weeks prior to flowering, and is semi autoflowering, which is why I suppose its barely flowering, I vegged for 6 weeks, now its been in flower for 5, it has about 40 branches with 2 pistols at every node and ending, but isn't close to the kwazulu.

My veg box - 125 watt cfl, and 7 t8s surrounding the outer walls in a variety of spectrums. I have a 6 inch duct fan blowing in, with 4 DIY solocup carbon filters covering exhaust holes. The sprouted plant in a 1 gallon is ketama or kwazulu reg, and their is 1 more behind the solo cups. The 4 cups have 1 sprouted Kiwiseeds Super Kush fem, 2 not sprouted Acapulco gold fem, and 1 Morningglory (barneys) fem not sprouted. My plan is to replace the 2 in flower (when they are finished) with 1 Acapulco gold fem in a 3 gallon pot, heavily lsted. I will also add the 2 unknown plants, kill either if male, then keep 1 healthy female with the Acapulco gold. It will also be lsted. The flower tent is 2x2x6, with 150 watt hps and 2 42 watt cfls in 2700k. I think 2 heavily trained plants is good for the lighting and space. The second Acapulco gold, super kush, and morning glory will be kept as mothers. I'm finished with seeds - I lost one order, then my next order was bad, seeds that didn't germinate. Had good luck prior, and good luck ordering from barneys farm (I assume so far), I just think it will be nice to have mothers to run either sog in the tent, or just have 3 plants to choose from all the time.

Nutes are Dutch passion organic bloom and organic grow, although I mostly only use the bloom, and only the grow 1 or 2x per plant. I have a nute called TappinRoots all stages fertilizer that is really gentle, and i like to use it during veg. Soil is just locally bought organic potting mix, with some perilite mixed in.

Veg tent has a 4 inch exhaust fan with carbon filter, mounted on top, and two 6" holes open at the bottom of the tent for intake. Both the tent and the veg box have small fans blowing toward the plants. Water is city water, dechlorinated, I used to ph it and slightly adjust the ph down, but it never made much difference, so I stopped.

This is the best pic of the kwazulu, I move the cfls for the pictures but they normally both clip to the pot and are directed at the lower buds.

Both Acapulco golds germinated overnight, and the super kush was more upright. I had to pick the seed off of the super kush as it was stuck. It came off without any damage. After I took this pic, I noticed the morning glory is just starting to germ. It looks like barneys farm shop has healthy seeds!

Nothing really new going on. All 4 seeds I had in solo cups sprouted. I think I may have a nitrogen deficiency in the ketama. I was looking at picturezs of nitrogen deficiencies with the leaf tips bent downward - the plant has gotten healthier since I stopped watering it too much (my kwazulu takes a half gallon every couple of days, this one takes maybe half that). I'll post a close-up picture of what I'm seeing later today. Also, I read that adding a couple tsp. of b at guano to a gallon of water, and watering a nitrogen deficient plant will help to correct the deficiency. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I just go to my local grow store and ask for some type of nitrogen (not blood meal, my 3 gallon pot is too small and I don't want to burn the plant) fertilizer?

Everything is looking good with the seedlings. The ketama still has curled leaves, but it went into its flowering stretch. I switched it to an 8 gallon pot.20160227_101409_Night.jpg 20160227_101409_Night.jpg 20160227_101409_Night.jpg 20160227_101409_Night.jpg 20160227_101637.jpg

somethings wrong with that Ketama mate

Shock, root root, got too hot or too dry ? maybe pests ?

Maybe some kinda root juice or b vits to lower its stress response ?

Yeah, ever since I put it in my flower tent its been rough. I was over watering, but I stopped and it recovered some, but the leaves are still curling (except for some of the new growth) it has no red veins, I just gave it some grow nutes that are high in nitrogen, but got no response. I repotted it from a 3 gallon to an 8 or 7 gallon, ill look into some root juice.

I have good and bad news. Bad news first, the Ketama hermed. I've never had a plant do this before, but it had definitive male and female parts. I am super confident in my ability to tell, I think I have 8 complete grow cycles behind me, the last of which were two white widow males for pollen. I traded the pollen for a share of the seedy bud when the Hindu Kush female is finished. I have to double check with my friend, but I think we have about 3 weeks left until the Hindu female is finished. The Original Dutch Strain K2 is actually White Widow male crossed with Hindu female. Back to my current grow, when I repotted the Ketama, I found the source of its stress. Ketama is an outdoor strain, and the 3 gallon pot was nowhere near sufficient for her/him. It was completely root-bound at the bottom of the pot, but not the middle, I guess it likes more depth for a deep taproot. Maybe the stress is was stunted and caused it to herm. Anyway, the good news to come from this situation is I have effectively doubled the light on the Kwazulu, which is doing amazing. I moved the HPS and the CFLs so everything is right above/around her. I gave her a pretty hot dose of Flower nutes two days ago, and she is reaching for the sky and happy today. See the next picture. The way I LSTed her, she has 8 tops, and 5 or 6 middle/medium buds that still get good light. 3 of which are within 2 inches of a 42 watt CFL. The true top is about 8 inches long, including the bend from the final tie down, and solid bud. She started producing a good amount of resin that smells like grapefruit/kerosene when you touch it. I would post better pics but I can't take the plant out of the tent. I realized "staking" her to the back corner post of the tent was probably a bad idea (oh well, 1 more way not to grow).

In my veg box, 4 fem seedlings are doing great, all are growing their 2nd set of leaves with the 3rd (first full leaves) starting to show. My biggest seedling, one of the either Ketama or Kwazulu reg, has its first full set of leaves. I topped her yesterday. The fourth set was starting and the fifth just showing. I topped the stem a couple millimeters above the first set of true leaves. Somebody tell me if I F-ed this up. LST and topping are new to me. The kwazulu was only tied because it stretched too much and tipped over, then continued to shoot upward, requiring me to tie her down several more times. This accident is probably the biggest single change I've ever made to how I grow. Even if I don't realize the merits of topping, I will still LST all of my plants meant for flower. The next change is going to be cloning. I hope to have 4 or 5 moms in my veg box (which will provide babies for myself and a fellow patient). - These moms will be Super Kush, Acapulco Gold, Morning Glory, maybe Kwazulu if I end up with a female one, or maybe the "K2 strain" that my friend and I bred, and perhaps one more TBD - I was thinking about critical mass - just to ensure my supply even if the quality isn't A+, or possibly blueberry. I love blueberry, but last time I grew it my yield was low (no LST, single main cola). Has anyone grown blueberry using LST that can let me know how it went? Critical Mass? I'm open to other suggestions too, I have the Sativa end covered (which is what I use most of the time), and Super Kush is like 90 % indica, so maybe something more indica dominant but not too heavy in effects. Blueberry is one of those indica dominant plants without a completely crushing stone.

I think the pics are too big of files, I'm seeing them somewhat chopped up, but in the last one if you zoom in you can just about see right where I topped it. Also look at the difference 13 days makes - from the first pic I took of the Kwazulu when I started this post, until today. Sometimes I feel like its not growing at all, but when I see the pictures, whoa!

It's getting close. Hairs are darkening fast and trichs are 75\25 clear/cloudy. I like my sativas around 75 cloudy with a hint of amber (indicas too, but sometimes I will chop them at 50/50 to moderate the couchlock effect). If this keeps turning as quick as it has over the past few days, it should be ready in 3-5 days.

I repotted my seedlings into 1 g pots, all are healthy. The mystery plant I topped is doing well, hopefully a clone can be cut from one of the tops in the next few days. I'll post more pictures of the veg box soon.
