150w CMH Scrog

Ha, not sure how often I can say that the girls are looking ridiculous. Ordered some shooting powder myself. My plants are much larger, but they're untrained. Even under a 400w HPS I'm starting to think you'll actually yield more. The power of the scrog.

Glad you got some Kriznarf, brilliant stuff. Just start off at a 1/4 strength and build them up. If I pull more than what you get off a 400hps, I would be very happy mate.

Ha, it's very likely that I'm underestimating. A buddy of mine peeped my tent recently and said that I should pull at least an ounce off of each plant. I'm growing two autos, 60-Day Wonder, though it's more like 90-Day Wonder if you ask me. It's really kind of a test grow. After this harvest, I'll be rocking a waterfarm/scrog. Hopefully pulling off something similar to SCOTTYBALLS, ottermunky, or Dayzt. I would love to try a CMH bulb like yourself, though I already have a digi-ballast and it seems like a waste to buy another ballast just for that.

The UVB from CMH Seems enough reason to change ballasts itself. The resin/trich production is so much nicer from CMH grows!

Mate if you build the ballast your self it can work out to be pretty cheep, just go to an electrical outlet you can buy everything you need there. The bulb how ever is pretty expensive a 400w running around 50 buck plus shipping online. I can agree with that bud, the resin production from the cmh has been very good, considering that it was four part nutrient mix used on these girls. Bio bizz root, grow and bloom and shooting powder that's it. I am very happy with the combination I used from the light to the soil and nutrients, quality over quantity any day. Think of it as an investment kriznarf mate :)

Ha, it's not the price of buying another ballast that bothers me, it's really the space that a magnetic ballast takes up and the heat that they generate, which I might have a hard time dealing with. My grow is semi-stealth. The ballast is the only part of the operation that resides outside my tent. The digital ballast isn't very big and doesn't generate very much heat. That said, I may try and work something out. CMH just seems like awesome tech to me.

Hey ryzla, looks awesome! Good they're getting really solid, should help your weight a bit. A 150 usually won't make too dense of nugs, nice to hear a cmh helps with that a bit more.

Thanks kriznarf and kawizzer!

The tops are hard man! the stuff underneath is more fluffy but still like little rocks more leafy. Think its more to do with the shooting powder than the light though could be a combination.

What should I do next guys, blue cheese from big budda or an auto grow? Was thinking a couple auto white Russian?

Autos are cool, since you do small grows anyway I don't see any reason not to try them. I did Mi5 before and liked them, but I only used 2liter soda bottles as pots for them so they stayed pretty small. They need to start off in their final container and it has to be pretty big (mostly deep) or else it will stunt their growth.

Haven't tried Blue Cheese myself, but I hear good things. I'm currently growing a couple autos myself (60-day wonder, though it's more like 90-day wonder if you ask me, cough, cough.) Autos would probably do well under a 150 since you could keep it at 18/6 or 20/4 for the entire grow and really max out on the light that you're serving up.

@ kawizzr do you think 3.6 litre would be big enough or would 5 litre pots be more suitable?

I am thinking 2 weeks veg 2 blue cheese and 2 something else any suggestions welcome?

Depending what I get off this grow I want to compare the 2 plant scrog method to a four plant 2 weeks veg method.

Any one what to have a guess what I might get would be fun to have a little yield guessing contest.

Using 3.6 liter pots with good soil and nutes should be fine for the autos, but if you wanted to use the 5 liter it could only help. With under 2 liters (cut off the top to have a wider rim), basic topsoil with perlite mixed in, and only veg nutes I still got over a quarter off each plant. They basically grew into little 8-10" budsicles which was kinda cool looking. You could probably pull twice that without much difficulty. Have you looked at the autoflower growers thread yet?

If you want you could start some autos and stagger them so a few are harvested a couple weeks before the others and veg the blue cheese when you harvest the first round of autos. That way you get to do both and it only adds a few extra weeks to your total time. Plus you end up with an extra harvest while the blue cheese are in veg.

Hmm as far as guessing yield, can you take a couple pics with a lighter next to them so we can see how much they've fattened up before we place bets?

Thanks kawizza the space I have is pretty small. 65cm width and 32cm depth only 0.21 sq meters so not much space.

I can fit 4 3.6 litre pots in there no problems but only three of the 5 litres tight squeeze.

I did check the auto strain thread out, cant say it did much to sway me towards auto growing in fact the more research I do the less inclined I am towards an auto grow, just something not quite there with them. I understand that it can produce some very good bud but I am not convinced it would be the best choice for me for the grow I want to do. Say if I put like ten 2 litre pots in there with all different auto strains, try to get like one big top no side branches, could probably pull 8-10 g's per top average which would be sweet. However this is not the sort of grow I want to try just yet.

The problem is though do I go for 4 plants in smaller 3.6 litre pot or have 3 plants in bigger 5 litre pots? Decisions Decisions bongsmilie

Would a regular feminized plant have enough root space in a 3.6 litre container?

Here also are the pictures you asked for anyone else welcome to have a guess.

PS after my lighter went in there with the girls it came out sticking to my hand lol
