Yes hps and metal halide lights can plug into regular sockets with a few adapter pieces. Those two types of lights are pretty crucial for the flowering stage. Just go to Lowe's buy a 70w hps light and an adapter, it will have instructions. You need 50w per plant of hps at the least. Later man.

Hi mate

As far as I know you need a ballast for all hps/MH lamps (I might be wrong with a 150w lamp but not 100% sure on that). As far as the socket size goes...any hps/MH lamps I have ever worked with have all been e40 screw-in's which are much bigger than standard light sockets, but you can buy them at most grow shops or D.I.Y stores for next to nothing.

yah man you need a ballast. i dont know what this adapter stuff is about. you can buy the whole 150 at a lowes for like 70 bucks. dont start modifying homemade contraptions man. just buy the whole light. also 150 hpss are made in standard mogul base and a large size. you need to match the mogul size and wattage size to the ballast. just buy the light complete. its safe.
