Hi Im new to the site and have been growing our medicine indoors for a little over a year and now cycling 12 flower/12 veg continuously every 10 weeks which = 5 cycles a year now yeilding approx 3-4oz per plant per cycle. So we are new but I believe on the right path thus far.

As you'll see from the pics provided that these clones and one seedling have now been vegging for 7 weeks to nearly a perfect grow cycle.

THE PLANT PROBLEM is we introduced a new strain (bottom right plant of main pic).. Ajan's Hawaiian Snow which was grown from one feminised seed in hopes to become a mother and continue cloning for future cycles pending results. Two days ago at first i thought she was just desiring more water (due to slight drooping) and so I provided. Since then she has worsen as pics show and description below.

As you'll see from the pics this (1) new plant/strain has some perfectly green leaves that have began drooping, curling, funky twisting and a few even dying.

Please any ideas could be helpful before things continue to become worse? Thank you

Overwatering makes em droop and look sad. I've had leave twisting with some bad pH issues - might want to check out those items. Also in hydro I've had leaves twist up - which I think was due to accelerated growth but not sure-it worked itself out. Hope ya figure it out - I'm sure an expert will pipe in sooner than later.

Thanks bigbudsbunny -
1. ph is always over 6 but less than 7 according to the rapitor soil test kit I use every other week (not digital obviously).

2. Overwatering was my other thought based on symptoms worsening since recent water, but she was four days between waterings up untill time mentioned above.

3. I am soil testing N P K nutrients levels tomorrow and let everyone know if something is too high or too low.

seems like overwatering. . . . .feed as normal jst less water . . .and i think you wills ee the light new growth darken up and bush out much quicker . . .worry less about PH and more about suppling the plant with what it needs

if you dont use a amended soil , teh right NPK values are important but not a deal breaker

your plant will only absorb what it can, never less never more

so creating a environment that encourages growth is key
let em dry out, make sure you gettign all teh macro micros in proper ratios . . . .and stand back let em grow

Thx samwellseedwell... Im gonna treat her as suggested and let her dry out. I use root organics formula 707 organic soil as a base and mix in MP to make it a little less hot.

Nutes are General Hydroponics Entire Organic/Vganic Line 1/2 strength of light feeding schedule per gallon of water once every two weeks or so as soil test indicates.

i useing that same mix now HP on top 707 on bottom 30/70

i can say 707 needs to dry out . . . idk about GH but i used the bio mix at 1/2 and i got a low yield on my first organic crop . . .very heady but low yield , so id suggest feeding at normal strength but feed less frequently and supplement with teas . . .primordial solutions makes a good mix, 4 products all very cost effective, use once a week and feed every other watering (id they require more food they will tell you )

she overall just looks ill, especially compared to the rest of the set..leaves curling like that reminds me of when you chop and they start to dry..drooping like it needs water..the one fan (yellow) right in the middle almost looks like ca-mag def..it seems like its striping but the pic is not close enough..hmmmm

EDIT: was container clean could she have been poisoned by anything?

Same soil as the other plants?
Same conditions as the other plants?
Other plants look good.
Is that the only plant of that strain? The sick plant.
If so, I'd just scratch it off your list. And don't look back. Not worth having a plant that's gonna take a dump every time it gets a little stressed.

IMO- it looks like heat stress.

one thing is for sure, the first day it looked bad which was a few days ago, it was okay before that..then count 3-4 days back, what happened that day(s)? are you the only person taking care of your grow?

Hey Topfuel,
All the same soil and conditions. Sealed room is climate and humidity controlled with a separate portable A/C unit and 50/50 intake/exhaust designed to the correct CFMs based on volume of the room. Just about always 75 degrees at 35% humidity all day everyday.

Your right about scratching it off the list like my over sensitive ex wife!

Thanks

Yep Im the one and only. Ive thought about that. I treated the entire grow 2 days before as I always have (once every 7-10 days) with organic neem oil/water mix as strickly a preventative maintenance against pest and mildew. Didnt seem to bother her the first seven weeks.

Got me stumped thus far but I'll keep everyone posted to my findings. Thanks

After a ton of internet reseach and discussion Im leaning towards the possibility of Cal/Mag defeciency causing curling and twisting. My thought is maybe this strain requires more than that of the others.

Any one know if theres a way to test for this? Any thoughts or insight?

obviously i am by no means an expert but i had a problem like this for awhile earlier this grow and was thinking the same lines ie:heat,calmag/or wind burn the only thing i did since i knew i was feeding proper amounts of cAlmag (im a calmag whore) was rearrange my ventilation and try feeding the plant a half point lower ph (i think i was running mid 6) i like to flucuate my ph a tiny bit as the plant supposedly uptakes nutrients at different levels when the ph is different, again im no expert

you can google this "malady chart"..something about what you did changed..did you double dose on neem?

malady_chart21.jpg

I use 1t per gallon of water EVERY water of cal-mag..

Hey Urban,

You're the first Ive heard so far that has experienced this weird leaf twist. I gave her some Calmag last night to see if it make any diff but probably gonna be a day or two before I see any improvement if Im lucky

Thanks for the input

Hey Schuylaar
Im sure I didnt accidentally double up the neem but if by chance I did you would think the other plants would be showing some signs of stress but who knows. Here's some pic updates and the soil rapitest results came back

Nitrogen - Surplus leaning a little excessive
Phosphorous - Adequate leaning a little more towards Deficient
Potassium - Surplus

From looking at that chart, the pic update above and the test results I would lean toward phosorous defeciency causing this .. though seems odd to have such an extremity during the veg phase.

I gave her some calmag last night and gonna wait another day for any improvements.

Thanks for the chart and bouncing ideas back n forth!
