16hours of light in flower...

2 weeks into 12/12 and my lights accidentally stayed on for 16 hours this morning. Will that cause my plants any problems? Delay anything? Nothing I can do about it now, it was a one time mistake (problem with my timer), but just want to know what to expect.

36 hours will cause confusion. The longer the period, the more chances the plant chemical balance will lean in favor of switching back to vegging. But there is nothing that can be done about that. As is the same with the 16 hour lights on period. Getting them as fast as you can back to 12/12 is the best you can do, along with the obvious, no more extended light periods. It happens, has happened to all of us at some stage, usually faulty timers or you accidently leave that little override switch on, on the timer.

Could happen anytime, but ur at week 5 so by the time nuts grow and spill pollen, it will be too late to grow seeds on your buds.

some growers..have a 12 /12 light cycle at the beginning of their flower cycle and then turn the lights up to 14 or 16 hours a day of light to boost production.
i personally have a perpetual harvest so i cant do that. but i would increase my light cycle to 14 hours a day. in a second if i could.some times i turn my lights on a extra hour or two when im working . a little extra exposure isnt going to do anything but help..so long as you are not trying to revert them back to veg..once they start budding its hard to revert them back to veg without really stressing the plant.it takes alot of stress normally to hermie a plant..unless that plant is a female seed..then they stress the plant to make it hermi on purpose..the stress it takes to make female seeds ..first you have to find a plant you can stress easy stress it and it hermis..all plants will not hermi as easy to make female plants..so they use plants that are prone to hermi when making female seeds..alot of times this trait is passed on to the seeds that made the female seeds..causing female seeds to hermi because the genetic trait is already there.
non female seeds in my opinion make the best plants because they can withstand stress better and are stonger.

thats what i heard too about female seeds.i definitely agree with you on this but if you keep an eye on it i personally think you would be ok

i usually just sorta eye ball it and move it sometimes but what is a good distance to keep the growing shoots from a 150W lamp?
i know hte hand testing if its ok to hold ur hand its ok... or watever... but what is a precise measurement distance that is good?

thanks everyone this is a cool post-no problems so far for me-making gumby hash right now to hopefuly smoke tommorow-i dont really know how to smoke it. no hermies and harvested 20 grams wet off a cfl bagseed grow. i hope i get at least 5 grams from these preme cuttings in week 5-6. i agree exposing a little more light could boost production. i noticed with the increased light new growth appeared and more flowers. when you cut the branches and start trimming is there sopposed to be thick white structuring sourounding the interior of the stem? liguid doesnt have too much room to travel and i think my plants may be gettin too much carbs. the stems are heavy and i feel someone might feel the are getting ripped off.

Just want to add something here. Many people talk about feminized seeds being more likely to hermie and I was worried about that throughout this entire 1st grow of mine. My plants went through more stress than you could ever imagine. At one point (in veg) I thought I had spider mites, so I panicked and put a fogger in the room and sprayed them with virtually everything I could buy at the hydroshop. Pretty much brought them right to the edge of death. Among many other 1st time mistakes like nute lock and deficiencies. Yet not one of them hermied and all were feminized seeds. Guess you'd have to nuke em to get them to hermie, because i absentmindedly and unwittingly tried everything else.

a couple of them
treat the plants like your kids when they are calling mom,mom ,mom, mom, just ignore them and only react to things your sure need immediate attention ,give it time in case its a false alarm , error on the side of caution ,or less ....rob:weed:

by setup was all feminzed with all trouble a newbie can encounter. gotta say that it has been awesome so far. lotts of stress but never a hermie. im in week 5-6 flower and starting to finalize triming the plant so i can get some hash and early nugs to satisfy my urge to smoke my stuff already. had some early blackjack and its a "lost sort of high".
