Hello eveyone!
I have an empty 24" x 24" veg. tent and want to try my first scrog...
The only light I have to use, is the light I use in there to veg... a 192 watt, T5HO unit... and I don't really want to deal with any secondary light source in that small space...
Is that enough light to make it worth tying as a first attempt at scrogging?
Yes, I have flowering bulbs.

Some have had good luck with T5's, search out RM3 for some ideals. I have tried a couple of complete runs and while I did ok it was not comparable to my HID grows but it may not have been totally the lights fault lol.

Yeah, I have, in the past, read all about the HO T5's and that's why I got them for that specific veg tent.
Honestly, since I've been using it for veg, I don't think it will do the best job at flowering... I guess I just need some others to tell me the same thing! Lol!
Since it would be my first scrog, I don't want to have any issues to discourage me from trying it again...
I hate growing this shit! I know I shouldn't but, me being me, I'm going to be looking for a specific flowering light for that space now... FML...

Screw it... I'll try it with what I have... why not, right???
I'd love to get myself a super-early Christmas present, but I should be unselfish and save some money up for others...
I'll run one female seed and see what happens!

Are you running a short flowering auto? I ask because I've timed my grow to finish flower part way through October. Then the cure and dry starts either late October to early November. Ready by December.

Try and if your not happy change to some sort of quality LED.
Your planning a scrog which is the right way to go for fluorescents.
You never know if you don't try though. Worst case you learned and can move on. There's plenty of options for small spaces these days if you ever feel the need to change lighting.

If you do scrog. Don't use 1" wire mesh. Not only is 1" mesh harder to thread through. But the wire makes it more difficult to remove.

Go with some kind of string or soft trellis mesh. Preferably "2.

50 w/sq ft is a good amount of light, on the high side if anything. If you don't want to use T5, there are led replacement bulbs you can get. They fit right into the fixture and while it is more efficient to rewire them to cut out the driver, they work just fine with it.

Lots of people flower with t5. It's probably better than the cheap chinese blurple lights overall.

Nug - I do have short timed autos, but the two packs I have are regs... I'm going to run one of my fems...
For the screen, I'll just make my own with pvc and nylon, or something soft like that.

Core - Exactly what I was thinking!

Greg - I agree, but it just doesn't "SEEM" that it will be enough light! I know what my eyes see are completely different than what a plant gets, but I know my 400w Vero's are rockin' my 3' x 3' tent! THAT, I can see!

Thanks guys, I apprecite the input!

The Veros kick ass. I've got 182w in my big box. Not even on half and they're just about blinding.

Bought mine from cutter. I actually don't need them to run at full power. I've only got about 2 sq foot to work with.
They're the 69.4v Vero 29C. 3500k. I forget which CRI they are. But they're running at 1.4A.
