1kw balast just died

I am thinking to go to a 600w or two 400s, any comments would be appreciated.....also a decent brand for the money....goathead

i would recommend a select-a-watt if you are undecided..i have the 400w version..you can also get the 600w adjustable

All depends on the area. 1000 watt dimmable might work out for you. Did you ever think of VHO fixtures? Just used one and it is better than my LED. Good luck.

Sure that the ballast is dead and it isn't something else like a timer, surge protector, outlet, overloaded circuit or fuse?

Magnetic ballast or digital? Was it under warranty?

Its a lumitek digital about three years old, it popped the fuse so bad I had to replace the fuse holder, when I fired it back up the lamp came on, but the ballast made a sizzling noise and the lamp was pulsing in intensity. after 5 min. lamp ent out for good....GOATHEAD
