quick question about getting root bound during flowering. I was thinking about re-potting her. Just taking her out and then putting some fresh dirt in the bottom. Also breaking up the lower dirt so it gets off the roots and they reach into the newer soil on the bottom. Would this help a rootbound plant or could that be too much stress for a flowering plant? I don't think my girl is root bound its just a "just incase" question.

personally i wouldnt repot in flower unless its a last ditch effort...i know some people repot in flower and im sure some have no problems after doing it...but me personally just think thats way to much stress on a plant especially in that stage of its life cycle...over stress, alot of times leads to hermies in flower as we all know...and breaking up the root system of a flowering plant, im sure would be quite a shock to im....i hate when things i could have prevented cause my plants to suffer, so i try to eliminate as much stress as possible...i dont really do any flowering in soil since i swithced to ebbnflow, but when i did, and even with my mothers now, i try to get them into the pot where they will spend there duration, in the least amount of transplants as possible...hope this helps ya...ganj

yeah once its root bound, its going to be tough for the roots to find the new soil...They're already making their way back into the original root mass and f&*%ing itself up. like ganja said, last ditch effort. hope all is well!

thanks ganja, I figured it would quite a bit of stress. always good to hear it from someone else haha.
Np bud....verbal reassurance is 50% of the reason i come to riu with my problems..ha ha...ya know? its crazy, because know matter what problem u bring to these forums, someone has experinced the same problem already, guaranteed...but that person doesnt always speak up, and u see other people, who im sure mean well, dishing out some ill informed advice...thats why i have np sayin "idk" rather than dish crap advice...but if i know the answer from experience i try to help..theres a ton of primo, i mean primo growers/breeders on this very site....and u can learn alot of expert tips, but if not careful, u can run ur plants into eternal nighty night..and i have no idea where im going with this..sour diesel has me ramblin....sorry for the thread jackin....super high bro...lol.....ganja

haha not thread jacking if I ask you to post haha. I do the same thing here on RIU by searching around for people that have similar situations and problems as my girl. Though not everyone here knows what they're talking about i still use stuff as a guideline while working with my plant. Though we are all growing marijuana we also know our own plants better than the others. I make sure to take in everyone advice or opinions cause you NEVER know when it'll help out, even the negatives.

Great Job on your grow, Sucks that you dont know what strain you are growing, or do you?? I dont believe I read anything about what strain you had. All I know is that you got it from a bag, thats crazy.

Peace guy

Gonna have an update for you guys today, just once The Price is Right is over :)

And Kevin, I do not know the strain though I should. A while ago I gog a sample bag from my guy, eighth of Sour Deisel, eighth of Blue Cheese, eighth of UK Cheese then the seed came from the 4th bag I got but for the life of me I can't remember what strain it was. Even asked my guy but he grows for 7 people so he's constantly having different strains going and couldn't remember. I decided that I am going to name this strain "The Fourth Kind" since its from the 4th bag from my sample pack.

Okay back to PIR, update coming in a bit

Well atleast you DO know its gonna be some really GREAT cannabis.

Do you have any plans on cloning to perserve this strain of yours??

I have one clone that is slowly but (hopefully) surely growing that I took when I fucked up my main girl. I don't have any extra space right now to put her into veg for a bit so she went right into budding and I am pretty sure that is why she is taking so long to grow, hasn't had anything other than a leaf or two die off, but other than that she is green and looking fine as well. I actually have like 5 more seeds from the same sack so I have more of this strain and plan on starting the rest once I set up more room after I harvest this girl (I call her "Mary" original, right? haha.)

I also found myself a Cheese seed a few weeks ago. I have been buying cheese from the same guy for a few years now, always quality bud and he grows it for medical users so you know it's strong :) funny thing is that he ALWAYS bragged about how I will never find a single seed in any of his bud because he has a "fool-proof" system that makes sure he gets no hermies. I haven't told him yet that I found a seed, going to see if it even starts and if it does and it happens to be a girl then I will tell him I found a seed...after he smokes the final product.

Uploading pictures now for the update, gonna roll myself a joint then I will update you guys on my main squeeze.

Alright here is another update finally. Sorry about the time between guys, have been running around a lot and trying to find a job (I got snitched out at my old job!) so I haven't had much time to update.

My enitre basement and now parts of my upstairs are starting to REEK (sp?) of this dank citrus smell she has going on, she's so stinky for one plant, it's amazing! She is also starting to get very colorful with her fan leafs starting to yellow and die off (normal at this time, right?) And I am also seeing a hint of purple inside her buds too  but I am pretty sure that is just from the temperatures at night, not her genetics. Also have decided to just keep all of her dying fan leafs on her until they fall off on their own. Though the brown and yellow, dry, crumbling leafs aren't pretty I am hoping to get all energy possibly used from her. The colors just remind me of fall haha.

I also plan on flushing her out today and once her dirt dries out again I will give her a full dose of nutes. Not too sure when I plan on harvesting her but I am thinking 5 weeks more maximum? Any opinions there? I need to get a magnifying glass so that I can check out her trichs and obviously that will help let me know when to cut her as well. What do you guys suggest flushing wise when it's harvest time? How long before?

She's still pumping out that sugar for us, looking more and more trich cover as she goes and I am so excited. After I take these pictures and am gently moving her around to show you guys her my fingers get all sticky as if I was trimming or something haha, I'M SO EXCITED! I wish I could share with you guys.

Got quite a few pictures for you all. Some bud porn to show off her colors and her trichs/hairs, then some canpoy shots as well. Threw in a picture of her in her box (with the clone next to her) to show her bushiness and got an underskirt (:hump:) shot for you guys to show her lower branches and her stalk. Other pictures are just zoomed out pictures of her main buds (look at the sizes!) and then some other bigger bud shots as well. Take a look through them and let me know what you guys think.

You know I take any comments (positive or negative) in stride and learn from all of you. If I am doing something wrong or there is something I don't spot because she's my first then let me know so I can hopefully correct it and make her shine for you guys! Thanks for stopping by.
