1st Grow :: Chrystal & Bagseed

ok so this is my first grow...hope to learn alot here at RIU so all comments are welcome...

the plants on the bottom row are from bagseed

the seedlings above those are Chrystal, i got them from BDS. i planted them on 2/6. they are under 2 compact 54watt t5 floros for a total of 10000 lumens. they are sittin in crumbled up rapidrooter in 2 inch netpots which are in a 18 gallon container with sprayers liker Stinkbud's design

i get nutes next week..so thats it for now

sensi grow a&b, ph meter, ppm meter,and cycle timer come in tomorrow...so there should be new pictures this week

can anyone comment on chrystal...is it a good strain...i ask cuz i don't here much about it....

i got my ph & ppm meter.
Why does GH Ph up add like 1000ppm to the rez? I must be doing something wrong.

the last 2 pics are the neglected bagseed still tryna shake back

lets see.......
1. Rubbermaid Roughneck Tote-9.00
2. 24 2" netpots @ .22 cents each-5.28
3. 24 2" neoprene sleeves @ .49 cents each-11.76
4. 396gph water pump-22.95
5. 1/2 pvc from home depot-(under 10 bucks, can't remember)
6. i spent 14.35 on rapid rooter plugs becuase this is my first time and i'm starting from seed....i will use the neoprene inserts next go around for clones

so i guess bout 50-60 bucks
this will be my clone/veg unit
i will get a bigger tub for flower

yeh....a couple of sites have it spelled 'chrystal' and i found another site that calls it 'crystal rain'...but they all say its [nl x ww] x nl.... happy to see some else growing this strain...hopefully it will turn out nice

ok i'm back...had root problems about a week ago becuase i went without changing my rez for a while (i alwayz gotta learn the hard way) so i cut off the dead roots cuz they were stinkin up the closet...the plants are bouncing back nicely and now i change my rez weekly now

plants are still under 2 floros 5000 lumens each...i took them off 24/0 and tried 18/6 they are stretching now and i don't like it but will leave on this light schedule becuase i will start to flower in 1 1/2 or 2 weeks newayz...i'm ording my hps tomorrow....i'm thinkin bout getting 2 250w hps so next time i can have a perpetual harvest and no longer worry about vegging....so it will be 1 week under floros, 4 weeks under 1st 250 hps
and then 4 weeks under 2nd 250 hps, and then harvest, and i will repeat that cycle...should work

but i'm getting ahead of myself...hopefully out of these 8 plants i will have a couple of females so i can see where i go from here...holla back lata

the roots are lookin a little oxidized,u want your ph bt 5.5-5.7

its about 5.5 in the moring...when i make it home about 8 hours later its 6.4 or 6.5...
i'm not sure how long it stays in the appropriate range though....i'm using gh ph down
next rez change i'm using distilled water instead of tap...maybe that will help stabilize the ph...those roots are just now growing back....a week ago they were all brown and slimey...i read somewhere to cut them off and dip the netpots in h2o2 so thats what i did and here i am

just stoppin in to see how your doing, get your ph problems under control? when you gonna sex em? have you started construction on your flowering site?

2 weeks into flowering and my crystal has gone from 14in to 3ft! (my other died of stem rot ) it's dwarfing my bad seeds lol

sup sb, if having to adjust my ph twice daily is under control...then yes it is....as far as sexing the plants i'm just letting them stay under the floros 18/6 until my hps comes in(which should be tomorrow....

tomorrow will be day 35 of veg...i noticed 2 plants showing tiny hairs today so i guess i got 2 females out of 8 plants so far

i think i will harvest these then do 12/12 from clone on my next grow...i'm thinkin that way i wont have to have a veg and flower area so when my hps gets here imma just put it where my floros were and take it from there...will post pics as soon as everything is setup

ok shit has gone down hill quick since i got my 600w hps.....this mofo gets hot.....

the light was like 12 inches from the tops when i first turned it on...i left and came back 30 min later and the plants were begging for mercy...i raised the light to 24 inches, and now 36 inches away and i'm still sitting in low to mid 90s (which is better than the 101F that i had originally) so now i gotta cool tube coming in so hopefully that will solve the heat issue....my fan and carbon filter are handling odor pretty well i must say though....

if the cool tube doesn't work i think i will downgrade to a 400....i read on here some where that sunlight is like 10,000 lpsf. and thats what i was going for with the 600 and i didn't think heat would be that big of an issue cuz the room size is 4.5x4.5x8 and i'm using 4.5 x 2.5
