Nice frost. They look ready. Are you going to trim and then dry or dry and then trim. I tried the dry before trim, very fruity taste

I am a noob (2 grows of 5 different strains) but what I am looking for is the white hairs shrinking back into the bud as well as how the trichs look. To see those close up and personal all you need is a 30x jewellers loupe - $5 online.

BUT I did just watch a youtube video of one of the cup judges describing what they look for in judging buds and the winner had clear trichs! So you can't just go by them.

Also if you know the strain it should be easy to find out how long they flower. 8 weeks would be on the short side of an indica. But with those skinny leaves you have a sativa/indica hybrid IMHO.

I have 3 big girls right about the stage that you're at as well. I want to chop one down because my stash is out for right now, but I just can't bring myself to do it until I know they are 100% ready.

prune it Kxxurt. Just cut a branch that looks most done and snip it from the stalk with something very sharp. Then just dry it over a light bulb. A harsh smoke but it will do the job.

Hi Cali, I am not sure I agree with the term "100% ready". You may lose a small amount of yield by harvesting earlier but the high will be more of a "high high" or "head high" than if you harvested later is which the high turns to more of a "couch lock" or "heavy stone". There is no wrong or right, some people go by different indicators as mentioned above. Pick the indicators you feel you want to work with, maybe different indicators for each plant and see what the difference is? Maybe you could share a smoke review to see what worked? Experimentation, trail and error, is all part of the mastery of the strain and experience is the best teacher. At least this way you can harvest now (after flush) and compare to some you harvested a bit later?

Sorry that was not a specific yes or no but Looks great.

I actually did this on my own, thanks for the suggestion because it was the best option for my scenario. A lot of the lower buds wouldn't even be worth it to cut and hang up but with another week or two under the 400w HPS they should plump up at least to little nug status. Plus it means I have to wait longer to smoke it, lol.

What strain is it bro? Looks Sativa dominant. If so, 8 weeks is a bit early. Sativa's could take 10-12 weeks to finish up, even longer. They look spectacular, but they look like they could use another week or two to fatten up. I would wait a while longer myself.

What's the worst that could happen? You end up with a few amber trichs? You'll be fine bro, don't sweat it. Best of luck the rest of the way!

thats nice lookin... im starting week 9 of flower and mine isnt nearly as ripe as your is. they tell me without seeing it that it isnt a pure sativa but i think im looking at 11 - 12 weeks to finish because i want the stoney stone not the thinky high. i tried one of the lower buds... real speedy and tasted like shit... but its a little preview and im really happy with it. good for you cat you should be beaming for your first grow

I'd cut a cola now and one in a week and let the rest ripen up a bit. Then measure the smoke from each harvest and see what you like best
