Awesome site!!!! Definitely in love, great reading while burnin a :joint: .

I've been looking into growing for about 10 years, but never had an opportunity to safely do it. My opportunity is here, although still limited in scope I think there is enough room to work with. I've read, read, read 10x again and would feel infinitely more confident if I had more $ and a better location.

First and foremost, I've got 3 seeds sitting in a cup of water, 8 wrapped in a paper towel, 2 days and no luck on either. They were all nabbed from a bad of buds and all green, some leaning slightly toward brown, but from what I've read/seen they don't have very good chances. I dropped the seeds in different areas of the cup, and they are huddled together now... I thought that was pretty awesome :)

The space I have to work with is approx 4.5 feet wide, 7 feet deep, and about 3.5 feet tall in the middle, with the roof sloping down on either side, at 4.5 feet wide approx 2 feet is left. There is an existing vent in the middle of this space on the right side, going out of the roof.

My plans, drawn in my head after a good :joint: are...

floro's down the middle, and $ permitting in each corner of the top triangle shape, giving space for 3 long ones, or 3 sets, whatever is cheaper. I do also have 4 60 watt CFL's i'd throw into the mix. I can't exceed approx 500-700 watts total.

The "room" I think would be best made with a frame of 2x4's, then mylar or a cheaper sub stapled to it. Would make changes down the line easier too. I'm thinking a diamond shape while growing, and pulling the mylar/etc away while I am in there to fiddle with them. That could potentially put every bit of available light on every inch of the plants. Basically: Top center - floros, left and right corners - more floros, then angle back to right under the pots.

Venting in through the outside, carbon filter out into the corners/unusable space in the attic, controlled air from inside the house isnt out of reach in this space (a PITA), but it wont be required for a few months/may not be needed at all when the cold hits.

What do you guys think would be the best plant setup in this space? Veg longer, and keep only a few plants in the middle, or very short veg and spread more out over the space? Or scale down to the $ available, get higher quality albeit less lighting, and shoot for 2-4 more healthy plants grown in a smaller space?

What height to grow is really buggin me, I think with this height any sort of HID is out, unless the plants are extremely short, but that would defeat the purpose?

Also take into account that I'm a big guy, 6'1/240lbs, so crawling around in here is already gonna be a hot sweaty nightmare.

I really want to avoid ordering seeds... I'd be entirely too paranoid about the grow the entire time through. Not to mention they can get pricey :). If someone has some ideas, feel free to PM me.

I'd really like to see this happen this month, the only real holdup is getting proper seeds.

Can't wait to post up a grow log!

How about angled pots? That could work excellent, and give room for more than 3 feet of height for sure. I've seen some of those super spiffy grow rooms setup like that, but it looks like they would only support short plants.

Would that be an option, and possibly a solution?
