1st grow setup

After researching for two months I have finally decided on pulling the trigger on my first grow, however before I do wanted to make sure I’m on the right track. The grow room is a closet in a completely light controlled room measuring 2x6x9. This will be a DWC grow with three Rubbermaid totes 20 gallons each a different feminized strain, one of which is rare dankness ghost train haze.

The closet itself will be covered in Mylar. The top of closet will have a 6” hole venting the ductwork to attic to an existing outside duct. Planning on mounting carbon filter at top of closet and fan in attatic suspended by bungees or worst case top of grow closet as well. Stealth and smell control are important just a side note.

So I want to ensure I am not over/under doing my room as far as materials needed since this is all new to me.

Lights -
2x HLG QB 320w-xl kits with 2 3000k boards and 1 4000k board each

Fan- thinking 8“ hyperfan slowed down would be quieter than 6” (If not let me know or if 6” is enough)

Carbon filter - phresh filter not sure what size looking at 6x18 or 6x24 Please recommend best solution with the fan I’m looking at

Nutrients/PH- This is what scares me most about the whole grow honestly. Looking at ph perfect by advanced nutrients so I don’t have to worry to much hopefully.
Advance nutrients sense bloom and maybe some others from there line as well.
Blue labs ph meter

Based upon this do you all think I’m heading the right direction? Also any recommendations?

I'm in almost the same size closet. Minus 6" on the short dimension. Only lighting ~4' with 330w. Running 24/7 since Jan. :bigjoint:

Looks like you have a good plan going. Won't know about temps until you run it though.

6" fan should be plenty and you might still need to slow it. I went with 6x24 filter just for duration.

I pondered hydro. Figured organic would be easier for my 1st go. Wrong answer in my case. lol. I got a decent harvest of good smoke but had issues.
Still pondered hydro. Decided baby steps were in order and went to coco and all has been well.

If you're up to the task of water temps, ppms and ph on a daily basis. Go for hydro. I'm still pondering but coco gives me the breathing room to be lazy. Would be nice to stop buying coco though.

Don't skimp on mylar either. Trust me. Get the thickest mil you can find/afford or orca or something. Save yourself the near future :wall:..
