1st grow

Hi, I'm a first time grower, growing in my conservatory in the U.K. I currently have only 1 bagseed plant which by chance has turned into a very healthy looking bushy female. I started a 12/12 cycle, when I saw the first preflowers on the 11th of july. I'm quite sure by looking at the plant that is an indica. Anyway, I am leaving my house to go back to uni around the 10th of September. I was wondering if anyone knows anyways at all that I could quicken the whole procedure. I'm sort of banking on it being ready to harvest between weeks 6/7 (22nd-29th of august) hopefully giving me around 2 weeks to dry and cure the bud for me returning to it around halloween. Is this hope a ridiculous notion? I know curing should take 2 weeks alone. I really do not want to quick dry my very first plant and sacrifice the taste and smell although I am not seeing any other options. I'm half planning to harvest my plant when all the hairs are cloudy which isn't ideal but will make sure I can prepare it for storage before I go. The plants are not autos either, and I am having to cover them each night or else I would just leave them to grow while I'm gone. Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Its done when it's done. No real way to speed harvest. 8 weeks is usually pretty fast. I usually go ten weeks with indicas to get ambers.

Don't give up its a good plant keep an eye on trichs and harvest at your earliest time. Will u have time for an auto?

I was thinking I would have most trichs cloudy and some amber but that's when I thought indicas took around 6 weeks. According to sunny747 that's too short though. Just going to have to see what happens I guess. To grow an auto aswell? No, I only have about 40 days until I leave. Will be setting up for an auto or two over easter when I'm home hopefully. Should be close to harvest around May/june when I get back then :)

I'm sure more experienced growers will help you out the way I see it in growth the fan leaves are like the plants solar panels which help trap and soak up light and help in feeding the plant Nutes. Nice plant you must be down south of UK are you with growing in conservatory?

I have read that and also that they produce the nitrogen which the buds drain out of the leaves at a later date to increase growth? Again though I don't take everything I read as gospel on the internet lol. I read also that sunlight getting past the fans and hitting the buds directly is best; I decided to do both and see how that pans out rather than put my first plant in any risk :) No I'm up North. That's why I'm so surprised it has survived this far!

Congrats on getting this far I wouldn't like to see how mine would do I'm also northern. Just keep doing what your doing there's no deficiencies etc so I say carry on maybe do some LST? It will interesting to see what your end result is

I think I am doing LST in a way already but I could be wrong. I have string pulling some branches down towards the pot attached with clothes pegs. I have attached string to the top of these branches to pull them in towards the bamboo pole in the middle. I decided to do this due to space restrictions and to keep the fan leaves from blocking sunlight hitting the pistols. I topped early and have the two main colas in a sort of slingshot shape rather than a 'V' shapes to keep it low. Is that LST?

lookin at the pics I think you've got at least 8-10 weeks to go till ready to harvest, it is not in flower at the moment. What are you doing to give a 12/12 light cycle if in conservatory? This time of year if left out it wont flower so you need to consider this.

Really you think that long? The latest I can harvest is the 1st September so I'm just going to have to hope it's half decent. I cover it at night and have been for about 16 days now. A lot of pistols are showing and the smell is becoming more potent.
