This is my 1st journal and 4th grow. I'm far from being an expert and am just using the materials i can get in the small space i have. For this grow I am growing Power Plant seeds from Dutch Passion seed company (www.kindseed.com). I will be growing 4 plants. Here are some facts on my setup and materials.

- Closet grow, removed doors from closet and lined inside as well as covered doorway with mylar.

- 1 80 CFM fan for intake

- 1 170 CFM fan with carbon can filter for exhaust.

- 2 small household fans inside closet for air circulation

- 2 four foot flouresent lights mounted on back wall for side growth and lower en the plant gets taller.

-1 four foot light hanging above for starting seeds, will switch to 400w MH for vegetative growth and then HPS for flower.

- 3 gallon nursery pots

- Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil with extra perlite

- Fox Farms Grow Big fertilizer

when i switch to flowering i will get different fertilizer. I just recently bought a meter that can test ph of soil, moisture of soil, and amount of light.

I started germinating my seeds 2 days ago. first i let the seeds soak in a glass of water for an hour, then I put them in moist paper towel, folded it twice, put the paper towel in a ziplock bag to retain moisture, then put the whole thing in my closet with the lights on for warmth but had the bag with the seeds under the black tray i use for young plants. i did this so they would be in darkness but still stay warm. The seeds sprouted and were ready to plant 1 day later

When I planted the seeds, I put some of my soil already mixed with the perlite into peat cups, then placed the peat cups in a plastic box i have for starting plants. Its like a mini greenhouse, stays warm inside and also retains moisture/ humidity. about 1 day later they popped up out of the soil, so 2 days total so far.

the 4th pic shows 1 plant that is growing with 2 main stems. I had a feeling it was gonna do this cuz when I germinated thie seeds, this 1 had 2 taproots instead of 1. I was planning on topping and fimming each plant to get 4 stems on each so I guess this plant has a head start

Thats rather bizarre... almost like twins?! I can't imagine that's a bad thing though, it looks healthy. Looks like you're off to a good start, I'll keep an eye on this one I think. I'm curious to see how 'the twins' grow up. :)

Check out mine if you get a chance - I'm only a few days ahead of you (3x colombian gold fems).

this is actually the 2nd time it happened to me. The same exact thing happened on my 2nd grow. It was just bagseed i got, i think it was northern lights, but i planted 3, 1 was female and it was the one that started the same way with 2 stems. so this is twice out of 4 total grows for me. like every other time.

lol, thats cool. Well it would have been interesting to see for me, as I'm quite new to growing... I'm sure others have also seen it many times. Very cool though, surely that's going to get pretty bushy if it's basically 2 plants in 1!

How's your babies doing in their first couple of days? Setup looks quite good... same setup for your last grow? How much dry weight did you get from that?

I've just been watering them every morning when the lights come on with distilled water. My timer is set to come on at 6:00 am (which is perfect b/c I work 7 - 4 every day) and turn off at 12:00am giving them 18 hours of light. The flouresent fixture I had hanging above the seedlings stopped working on 1 side so i had to put up my 400w MH light really early. I was afraid this might kill them from too much light intensity this early in their lives, and it almost did kill 2 of them. The twins and 1 other plant wilted and wouldnt hold themselves up, so i cut a straw into pieces and put them around the stems for support. Then I gave them extra water and left the light off for a couple extra hours. The next morning they were fine, standing straight up again, and I haven't had a problem since. The 1st day that I noticed the roots poking through the bottom of the peat cups, I planted the whole cup into the soil a little bit deeper than the top of the cup, not much but just enough for a little extra support. Not really necesarry, guess I was just paranoid about what happened before.

These next pics are at 9 days old. The twins are growing pretty slow, but they're growing. Probably because it needs to use twice as much energy to get as big as the others. The other smaller one is the one that almost didnt make it, but its doing fine.

It's day 11, I've never used Fox Farms Nutes before. The bottle says to start using within 2 weeks of sprouting, and to use 1 tsp with every watering. so i decided to use about 1/3 strength and i will do every other watering and will increase to 1/2 strength after the next feeding for 2 times then go full strength. I've had some bad luck with over feeding in the past so i'm taking my time with this 1. although last time i just used some generic local garden center powder formula last time and it had a higher npk than this stuff. If anyone else familiar with fox farms grow big formula thinks i can feed more often please let me know. again i'm using fox farms ocean forest soil so it doesnt have any slow release fertilizer in it.

i just got the same nute but im also waiting til atleast 2-3 weeks before giving them anything im using cocogro has no nutes at all so i might hit them in 2 weeks. if you use ffof those have worm castings and other stuff to feed. id wait untill week 3 before you hit them with the grow big and yea 1/3 strength seems good. the fox farm nutes dont have lots of salts and dont burn plants as easily as other cheap chemical fertilizers

My plants are exactly 2 weeks old in these pics. They are all doing good, and my "twins" actually surprised me again and have turned into "triplets" one of the origional 2 has split off again. Should definately be an interesting grow with these plants.

yea ive had power plant in summer 2008 but i burned it with hydrolized fish fert 4 weeks into flowering and ended up with some premature bud. still good resin production and huge resin glands. i heard somewhere in this forum that its not the most stable strain but has great possibilities. i think youre in for some great shit
