i havent got my auto ak seeds yet but i traded 5 c13 sprouts for some regular lowryder seeds.
That's too bad they're not here yet...Attitude is a sweet company tho, rest assured they're coming. What shipping method did you pick? I splurged on the t shirt assured option, but I live on the west coast of canada. I ordered sunday night and had the beans thursday afternoon from the uk which really impressed me.

And now you got lowryders meanwhile. You'll have quite a decent assortment once your others arrive! I hate waiting too so focus on th lowryders right now.

Day 35 overall
Day 31 since sprout

Little bit of bad news

#1) I turn my fan down low at night so I can sleep/neighbours won't hear it, and up in the morning. Today I forgot to turn it up! It was cooking my plants all day. Luckily it seems only the one in the pic got hit...

#2) my shitty hygrometer/thermometer is back to being a piece of shit and not working

Other than that things are going alright. Buds starting to take shape etc. Sorry for bad pics, gf is away for the weekend and took the camera so I'm left with just my cell phone...not that I normally take wonderful pics anyways

PS just watched a US show called DEA where they 'busted' some guy with 10lbs of weed and referred to him as a member of a hardcore international drug ring...lol...almost made me forget about my cooked plants!

stay tuned!

The carbon filter can be anywhere as long as the air flows the right direction. In my tent the air passes thru the filter, thru the cool tube then outside the tent so in one circuit it cleans the smell and cools the light. I don't have a fan in the tent right now because there's only one plant.

I didn't buy feminised seeds because I didn't want to get any hermaphrodites.

hey there pointystick, just wondered about why you said that femiized seeds could be hemorphrodites. i have feminized brainstorm seeds going now. thanks, nice set up, real nice.

Thanks!

That's a fair question. I've never bought feminized seeds myself so I guess I shouldn't really say anything. I remember reading years ago they often went hermi so I'm basing it off that and not personal experience which is kinda dumb now that I think about it.

I have a question bro, you have a 1000hps, what is the distance u left from light to the little plants (mine are at day 6) ?? First time with a 1000hps, just got it today.

I am not 100% positive on how "feminized" seeds are produced but I've read if you have a female that hermied and it pollinates itself or another female the product is "feminized" seed. As opposed to where a 100% male crossed with 100% female is a 50/50 mix, the female x female = female seed.

There is also the chance that hermi seed does not have female chromosomes but hermie chromosomes, meaning all the seeds will produce hermie plants. Good news is, I had a hermie that started out female and pollinated my other females....I swear to plant every single damn seed and count the male / female ratio :) I'll get back to ya in a few weeks :P

Sorry I can barely use this website and can't use quotes...

To answer your Q- when my guys were little I left the light about 2'+ above the plants. After a couple weeks or so I lowered it to maybe 18" or less and since my room is so hot from the damn sun I move it up and down almost everyday. In my opinion the distance from seedlings doesn't matter as long as the plants are growing nicely with no stretch, looking nice etc. Just start high and work your way down...don't cook the girls like me and remember to leave the cool tube fan on

Thanks for the reply man, my lights are about 24 inches from the babies, they are looking happy to me. Yeah I got to make sure that the fan is on because this 1000hps gets really HOT, so I have it in the same timer as the light, when the light turns on, the inline fan turns on also. I posted some pics on my journal of my new system, for the first day I'm lovin it, and so are my babies.

Peace and happy growing

Hello my friends

day 38 overall
day 34 since sprout

So I went and found a really nicely priced portable AC unit on craigslist. The guy was a tough bargainer but I managed to get it for $120. Really good condition and everything. It's probably a bit overkill but you can't be too picky when shopping for used stuff. It's 8400 BTU and uses as much power as my entire grow tent so my hydro bill will probably be mad at me but I can handle it. I've got it set to 23 celcius and wow what a difference. I've got my cooling fans turned way down now too so so the room is much quieter=gf happier.

Light has now been lowered again and can remain there always!

there's a pic of my AC and one of my big kush since I haven't put one up forever

Also have a pic of my seedlings/cuttings that I'm going to stick outside if it ever
stops pissing rain

stay tuned!:joint:

Nice AC unit, you cooling your tent or the room the tent is in? I am thinking about getting one myself :)
Plants looking good! Approximately how tall is your tallest plant?

Thanks

I coulda just answered the question but here's a pic instead....it's 14" if you can't read it

I was looking at some other ppl's journals of the same strain and age and I am really concerned that my tent has been way too hot too long. I mean I have the AC now so it's not a problem, but a lot of other ppl had much bushier taller plants at this stage and I have a 1k light and no one else I saw did....oh boy...live and learn

I was just cooling the room but I bet in another few weeks I'll have to stick the AC in the tent. Try to find a nice used one if you can. These things are pricey brand new but it sure works great

I was originally not going to get one because I didn't want to spend an additional $400 on top of what I've already spent.....

Like the gf says, "wouldn't it have been easier to just buy a pound instead of all this crap?"

NO, silence woman!

wow...hope I get a good load off these or she'll be able to say I told you so

I just wish I had have done it a few weeks ago before my plants got all cooked and stunted.

I was even thinking of making a simple DIY swamp chiller but I'm happy with the AC so far. It has been on basically 24/7 and uses 1050watts so I'm in for an awesome power bill.

Well, it looks like you're growing some beautiful plants here. I'm a completely new grower, planning on starting my own little garden quite soon, and I was just curious how often you water these and how much at a time. It seems like a really stupid question but I guess I just haven't picked up on it. I think it is just assumed that I should already know. Thanks!

Thanks for checking out my journal.

Many variables come into play when watering is concerned. Heat is a big one as well as plant size, pot size, soil type etc.

There isn't really an exact ml amount I can give you. For the first couple weeks it will be heat drying things out rather than the plant drinking the water.

I Plant sprouted seeds into soil and nicely wet the soil after planting. This should last the seedlings for at least the first several days depending on the temp of the room. The soil should always be moist but not soaking and it should slowly dry up after a few days.

Right now I'm watering mine at about 200ml every other day but that's a big approximation. My best advice to you is to read everything you can and when you're done that read some more. There is tons of info out there, just spend some time on it. The more you know before you start the less $ you'll spend and the better your results will be.

Do you feed them nutrients everytime you water ?

No I don't, but don't forget I use things like 20 20 20 for veg and 15 30 15 for bud. I feed every week or ten days with this powerful stuff. Believe me back in the day i burnt my share of leaves so now im super careful. I suppose i could feed every watering if i mixed at low strength.
I learned by growing tomatoes in the back yard so I guess that's part of my bush league nutrient regimen.... I do use superthrive aswell tho.
I don't have the hydro store close to my place and I just never got into things like advanced nutrients etc.

I'm really busy with work and school right now, but I promise a proper update early next week

fuck it, spend a ton of money.....help the economy buy purchasing legit shit. Grow your own smoke and if folks ask about it...say its an oz a month limited supply thang.........this way your karma is good and you know whats in you meds. So glad people smoke/eat herb instead of taking zanex, etc.! Its like "toddler" in a pill.

Day 40 since sprout

My poor cooked plants are slowly starting to look happier now that the AC is in place. I'm actually a little embarrassed about making such a silly mistake. I haven't grown in about 5 years and I guess it shows.

The buds are starting to form and are slowly putting on weight. I guess I have at least 30 days left so there's lots of time for them to get bigger and recover from heat stress.

My cuttings and seedlings can go outside anytime now. I'll do it on my next day off.

sorry for crappy pics
