Hi riu

Ok so i dont have a propagator but i thought i would try and take some clones today and put them in clonex and soil - here is the pic...

they look a bit droopy although i did mist them with water earlier and left them soaked in a cup of water for an hour before i put them in the little pots... My question is will they work even tho i dont have a propagator, they do look a little flat

thanks

you need to use a propagater. if you dont have one then use a clear plastic bottle and cut the top off hey presto pop that over your clones. a make do propagater.

just put something that is clear plastic over the top of the plants like a blank cd holder lid, mist inside of it then put it over plants if you have room to do it with, clones need high humidity, not just to be sprayed a couple of times. they should perk up when you give them some humidity.

100% agreed.. high humidity is key. cut a 2L soda bottle and cap it and poke a few holes in it to breath. Mist the shit out of it and put it over those. You do not need a propagator, though. I do clones for my pc grows in 2 clear plastic cups with the cutting in rock wool. I burp them once per day and breathe into the cups to give a little co2 boost. Ever since the humidity, I have not failed to clone a single strain. It can take a couple weeks for rooting, though. You water that soil with clone food or anything? Just make sure there's no N in whatever you're watering with. N hinders root growth.

Luck.

just mist the plastic cover over the clones a couple times a day under constant lighting , i use cfls or floros no hid, also in my experiences it usually takes at least 12 days to get roots, quickes ive seen is 10 but the longest is 21 days

thanks guys - tried the 2L bottle tops over them last night and one of them has popped right up... gave them a good misting as well today so fingers crossed.

If you have a friend that uses litter, see if they have an empty square, Tidy Cat litter container, with the folding lid,I think they hold 15-20 lbs of litter.I put my clones in the bottom of the container,in their cubes with about a inch or two of water in the bottom and close the lid.I then put it in my veg room, keep it under the light,so the heat from the flouro's and the aquarium heater I have stuck inside it,keep the humidity high and my clones root in about 3-5 days.100% success.Everybody has their own technique. Some swear by using only Clonex too.To each his own.
