1st Time DWC Grow - Amnesia Lemon, La Musa & Madness

Definately agree about vaping over smoking, the taste is remarkable compared to smoking, high is definately different and i remember reading on icmag that people reuse by making butter out of the left over vaped weed and i always collect the left over and make a big batch of canna butter and some cookie/brownies with it, sure gets you wacked out of your head but gives you a real groggy feeling next morning if to much is eaten.

I've rolled up my leftovers and smoked it. But I have also heard of people making canna butter out of it. I will probably try it once I am no longer paying for my bud. Hope to be there in about 3 months

For sure. You lose flavor. I describe it as turning the High grade strain into a mid-grade by vaping it. You get a blunt or a J that doesn't taste great, but you get lifted with that body stone that you miss with the vape.

I hope you all are with me for the ride as well! I am enjoying it so far.

La Musa is starting to Flower.

I find the leftovers to be harsh with little effect, but I get mine up to 410F to release the CBD and CBN

I barely use my Zephyr though, expensive paper weight. But I got about 2-1/2 oz of vaped bud, so I have used it.

So I snapped a few pictures last night, but was tired and high, plus disappointed at how the OKC/Miami game finished up so I went to bed.

Here is where I am at Day 22 from seed. La Musa is pre-flowering and I removed some bottom fan leaves from her to allow more light penetration.

I topped both Amnesia Lemons and the Madness. 1 Amnesia I topped at the 6th node and the other plus the Madness were topped at the 5th node. So far I am loving the switch to buckets I have more room to maneuver, I can rotate the plants to allow for even light distribution and swapping out water/nutes and cleaning the buckets (I believe in doing this, I know others don't think it necessary) is much much easier. I will probably be adding some CFLs to the room over the weekend. I anticipate a Home Depot gift card for Father's day (a Hallmark holiday I don't really celebrate, but I'll take it).

So I took some clones off of the 2 Amnesia Lemon plants and the the Madness plant. 4 of the 6 clones look to be in really good shape. The other 2 are drooping a bit, but show signs of improving. I will move them to a Bubble cloner I constructed and will keep them there until I am ready to go for Growing Round 2. I will post some pics of the clones after I move them from the humidity dome to the bubble cloner.

I will probably flip the lights this Friday. That will be 3 weeks of vegging and 4 weeks from sprouting. Both Amnesia Lemon Plants are about 10 inches tall. Madness is about 7-8 inches and that gives me pause. The other thing that gives me pause is the fact that La Musa is an auto, and I was hoping to keep the others in 18/6 for as long as possible for her benefit, but I need to factor in my space limitations. When I flip to 12/12, I will be affecting her yield (at least that's the conclusion my research into the issue has led me to). I can definitely see why hardcore growers do not like autos. I like that I will be able to harvest a good month before the others, but you can't clone them and given the price of seeds, I cannot see why anyone who is growing for personal use would do primarily autos.

Bought an TDS Meter and a pocket microscope from Amazon. The TDS Meter is great and now I do not have to guess on PPM. The pocket scope is more for harvest time, but I am also finishing up a small plant in soil for a friend and it has been useful to check the trichomes on it.

The Plants are looking good. I made the mistake of trimming off some fan leaves on the Madness, but the plant doesn't seem mad at me anymore for doing that. I read a pretty interesting debate on that issue here in the forums somewhere and thought after reading it that it would make for an interesting experiment, but I cut higher than I intended to.

That's where I am now, I will definitely be snapping some pictures tonight. Not sure if I will be able to post them, but they will follow.

I broke-down and bought some backwoods today. Pretty good to go a month just vaping, but I am craving a blunt! Smoking on Apollo 13 which has been fantastic. Looking forward to the day when I can toke on the fruits of my labor of love....

I am hoping to add some photos tonight. Lots of progress made. Will also try to snap a few of the clones in the Prop tray under the humidity dome 4 of the 6 are doing great. 2 drooped over pretty bad, but I see them attempting the come-back...

Wife got pissed at me for buying Backwoods, and truth be told, while I may have been craving a blunt, it was far from tasty. I think I have pretty much weened myself off of them.

Anyways, I flipped the lights to 12/12 yesterday. Today after I shut down the lights, I took some pictures of where I am at Day 31 (from seed).

Everything is taking off now man, LA MUSA looks like a really nice plant, Amnesia's are looking sexy as well, keep those pics coming man, everything is dialed in on your end and we can see the results .

I also cannot stress how important it is to have a ppm/ec meter, and i hope you do have a PH meter, looks like you do from the way your plants are thriving.

I do have a TDS meter and I have been using PH Solution to monitor my PH levels. I will eventually spend the money on a real meter, but the wife has kinda got a little annoyed with how much I've been putting into this project, so I have to make do for a while. I appreciate the encouragement and that you are with me on this journey.

No problem at all man your welcome, the growth is right on. Im sure the everything will be good for the next 2 months or so, you wont need anything, and some nice dank bud should be produced.

We must've placed an order from the 'tude around the same time as the La Musa and Madness were my freebies. My madness clones look really healthy by the way.

I think the biggest lesson I've learned so far is not to be greedy. I thought 4 plants in my closet would be just fine but they are all starting to crowding each other. I didn't anticipate the La Musa being so bushy. I expected a small, single cola plant since it is an auto. My next grow will probably only be 2 or 3 plants so that as they grow, they will have some space and not be right on top of each other. Luckily La Musa will finish up way before the others and I can get her bucket out of the closet which will free up some space.

Madness had been growing at a much slower rate than the others. I've actually had put some books underneath her bucket so that I can raise the lights for the other 3 plants without her being crowded out. She has the healthiest, thickest stem though. I think my trimming her lower fan leaves probably slowed her down a bit.

The two Amnesias are very similar if not identical phenos. They have been growing at the same rate more or less and look pretty much the same.

The roots look strong and healthy on all 4 plants. I will snap some pictures tomorrow night and include some root porn.

Got some new pictures. I have to pull the plants out of the closet in order to get decent pictures. As I mention in the post right above it's starting to get crowded in there.

La Musa is starting to form buds and she is getting real funky. She is going to produce some interesting bud....

Not sure why the first two pics didn't show up. May have had something to do with going to blaze for a while and going idle. Will repost.

Some very nice bushes man, the growth on most of them seem to be leaning more towards sativa growth characteristics, but the madness seems to have more indica growth patterns.

Careful planning is everything when growing, need to be ready for your next batch of plants to put into flower and so on, I find that 2 big plants are much easier to grow than having 6 small plants, and also with the larger plants you can most likely double harvest the top cola's and let the bottom popcorn buds further ripen if they had not been receiving sufficient lighting, this might even be the case now with your current setup, only time will tell.

I think you may correct in that. I've had to elevate the Madness bucket yet again so that it doesn't get crowded out of the light.
