1st time grow, Nirvana Ice + cheese w/ CFL

First time grower and I'm super stoked about it and wanted to start a journal, if anything to keep me on track lol. I feel like I've done a lot of reading on the topic, and although my setup may not be ideal, I will adjust and improve wherever I can.

SO, here's the setup...

*Currently running (6) 50 watt - 200w equivelant - CFL's from ecobulb that I got from menards.

Bought (10) reg ice seeds from nirvana. Germed 6 to start with, and all 6 popped a tail. 1 died after potting, so I germed and planted a cheese seed from a bag I had.

I'm currently on day 10 of veg. All plants are looking good. I'm running 18/6, and will veg until either day 30, or when the plants are between 2'-3', whichever comes first.

I have a box fan in the room with open vents and decent air exchange. Also have a space heater to make sure room stays between 72-75 with lights on, and I leave the fan running and unplug heater when the lights are off to simulate night time temperature dips, and it gets down to about 63-65.
I know it looks a little archaic right now, but I'm probably going to build a 4'x5'x5' grow box for veg. Ideally iI'd like to be running 6-10 plants continuously through veg and flower.

I'm all about keeping things on a budget, so when flowering starts I'll be switching to the Apollo 1000w hps system (found on eBay, amazon, etc...)

I currently water one day, nothing on day two, full dosage of fox farm big bloom on day 3, then nothing on day 4...then repeat cycle. Plants seem to be taking nutes well! No sign of burning or leaf droopage.

Currently in 1 gal. pots...had them in smaller pots, but they were clear (don't ask) and found out light on the roots is bad, so I transferred to their current pots. Room isn't an issue, so sometime within the next week or two, I'll be switching them to their final home in 10 gal pots.

I think that is it for now...if I missed anything, I'll be sure to add updates. I'd like to update at least once a week, maybe more.

Also decided to go with attitude seeds for my next round. I'm going to order purple paralysis, sour blueberry, chemdawg, and acid...all will be feminized. Nothing against nirvana, shipping took about 2 1/2 weeks, and I'm stoked most of the seeds germed, I just wish they had a little more selection, and attitude throws in a bunch of freebies!

i think you would be alright with 5 gal per plant and save money on soil unless your going to grow trees and the other is you mite want to put up some mylar to refleced the light do to the looks of the room you dont want to paint it flat white other then that good job

Yep, I'm going to get white panda film to line the interior, also going to get 1 more set of CFL's. I'm also starting to see roots poking out of the bottom of the 1 gal pots, so I'm transferring them to their final 10 gal pots. So far everything is going pretty good with them!

Also built a new grow box frame, I'll post pics tomorrow.

Looking forward to watching the Ice, I've got some beans for it stashed.

Just an update, I'll post pics when I can, it doesn't seem to want to work from my phone.

They're all doing really good! I germed the other 4 seeds I have, and only 1 didn't sprout. So from that order of 10 from nirvana, 9 sprouted, and only had one die after planting! Now hopefully theyre all females

I gave them a full dose of fox farm big bloom 2 days ago, nothing yesterday, and just gave them distilled water today. I tell ya, I love watching these things take off!

Made a bigger frame around the girls to accomodate light placement, and I'm going to put up panda film on Wednesday.
