And yes, you can flower plants whenever you like, they will generally grow 2-3x bigger in flowering, so you may have to raise them up on pots so they don't get shaded out by the bigger plants in the flowering room. Also, don't be afraid to gently manipulate plants to make the most of the space, drilling holes in the sides of the pots can help with this, I like to use an elstic band where it attaches to the plant, and then wire/string attached to that. If you run out of space, the main cola can be bent down to 90o, but if the stems are woody, then you should only to this a little at a time. If you do this, the side branches will grow faster, and this is a basic form of LST. And it will really help your yeild, as there will effectively be more main colas, and the lights can be lowered, giving greater light to more of the plants = more bud!

Thanks for the responses!

I was thinking of trying a scrog grow, that would work good with the LST training. I definately will try on different ones. I plan on making clones and growing the same strain in different ways with different nutrients. I really want to learn as much as I can with different strains. I just hope I can keep up with the room!

Tomorrow I'm finishing my homemade tent and repoting. I've been using Happy Frog with awesome results so far (this is my first grow). These all came in coco medium. I've never used but by looking I can already tell it really lets air in. I will be buying some tomorrow so I'll have new pics for a update.

Any more tips are greatly appreciated!

+rep Captain Jaz and DanKing for the responses. Thanks again!:hump:

Hey there 925Grow. Nice job so far on the crop. I have been growing with nothing but Coco for about 3 years now. If you are going to buy some Coco. I highly suggest you watch Canna Coco's videos on Youtube. It is a 3 part documentary type video. It shows you how it is produced and how to use it and all kinds of good info. Never Buy Press'd Bails of Coco. I do not have anything to do with Canna Corp. But I use only their Product. It is of much better quality then the other brands. And if you use a RootZyme type product, it can be used over and over for many crops. I am training the Monkey in my Avatar to take over my Coco Crops for me as we speak. This stuff is really easy to grow in. Over watering is about impossible. And if you make a mistake, it is very easy to correct. Plus you get all the benefits of soil. Taste, smell and such. Here is a link to the first part of that Youtube video on Coco.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsJXJED0qD4

And yes, I have used 2 or 3 other types of Coco. Bails are crap, and way to much work to break up. And Canna is about the only one that Soaks in fresh water, the others use salt water from the sea. Basically because it is more available where they harviest the Coco nuts at.
Anyway, best wishes on which ever way you go.

Going back to what eyelza said on page 2 about cutting the sides. i read up the growers bible and if u are cloning, the lower side nodes are where there is higher concentration of the proper hormones to clone and take root faster than that of the higher ones. so if you are more interested in cloning, top the mother early, keep the low fan leaves and bend them away from light so the side nodes get an abundance of light and produce a more successful, faster cloning procedure.:leaf: also if u are more interested in getting more smoke ur best bet is in the top main colas as u probably know bongsmilie

heres the link for the book ive been reading... marijuana horticulture medical growers bible:hump:

Thanks DaNKing and Lord Dangly Bits! +rep I am actually going to start training tomorrow, maybe tonight. I plan on bending the top colas to a 90 degree angle and attaching the side branches to train them out. I have heard great things about Canna Coco, I have an abundance of Happy Frog Soil and plan on transplanting them to it. I've had great results so far.

Here are some new pics!:hump::hump::hump:

Here are some random shots of the young mothers in there new home. Looking good so far and growing fast!

Grand Daddy Purple: I just starting trimming her on her lower branches and will trim her some more tomorrow. Getting frosty finally too! She has a hug cola forming, she reminds me of the weed monster in "Scary Movie II."

The "L" shaped veg area will be fully covered with panda plastic by tomorrow with zip up opening. I just need to get good ventilation in there.

I just watered today, I introduced Advanced Nutrients Liquid Carb and Humbolt Nutrients Myco Madness (Organic). I've heard great things, we'll see how it goes.
IMG00787-20101227-1651.jpg IMG00786-20101227-1651.jpg

I have a little spider mite problem from the Casey Jones when I got them as teens, this stuff has been working great so far, and is organic.
IMG00803-20101227-1734.jpg

I will be transplanting 2 of these in bigger cubes to see the difference, 2 transplanted to soil so far.

Thanks man, I am new at this as well. I just spend alot of time on this forum, read all the literature I can, and take alot of notes myself. I got a journal I write in for all the strains. I update with lots of pics so just check my thread out whenever you get a minute.

Thanks again!

Looks good man. I see you done some topping too. Thats all good, but give the plants 10+ days to recover before flowering if you top them. I used to use coco, but I found that it can't be reused (and give good results) more than 2-3 times. Which means you got to dump it. If dumping it isn't a problem, then you might as well use soil. If you wanna go hydro, I think a medium of a 50/50 periltite/vermiculite, or 33/33/33 vermiculite/perilite/clay pebbles is best. Nothing wrong with coco, but it builds up salts after awhile, even with good flushing, I still didn't get as good results after reusuing it a few times. And yes, if you do use it, canna is the best one.

Wow, you had salt build up in Canna Coco after only useing it 2-3 times? Hmm. I have not had that affect after 5 times of use. What nutrients were you useing and how to you prep the coco after each use? I have never had salt built up, even after 5 uses. I changed it out just because I had gott'n my moneys worth out of the Coco already. And even then I do not dump it. I throw it into my compost out in my back pard for my vegetable garden.

Looking good 925, and btw, that dog in your pic looks like it is impatiently waiting for those nugs. I think you said you have a journal, but I can't find it.

Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long but I just got a Nikon S80 Camera so I took some awesome pics!

Thanks Purplekrunchie! She's definately waiting for some tasty nugs, she just lies there staring at them!

My 4" Elf filter and 4" fan...don't mind the ghetto duct tape, ran out of money at the time and so far the tape is working good.

Here are 4 of my CJ clones I took off of the 4 teens I originally got. Not all made it, I still have 8 in the dome and 2 growing in soil. I wanted to try the cubes to see the difference in growing the same strain. I got the soil down, figured this would be something I could handle. Good so far!

I'll put some more pics of the mothers tomorrow hopefully if i'm not too busy. Thanks again everyone for the support!

Sweet guide, thanks Captain Jaz +rep

I am definately going to make one of those, the little 4" elf seems to be working good, I let the window open during the day to get some fresh air in and I can't smell anything outside. I figure it couldn't hurt to have a bigger one, especially when I harvest.

Here are some pics! I love my new Nikon, way better than my old phone camera!:hump:

Nutrients, Botnicare ROCKS! I also added Humbolt Nutrients Myco Madness and Advanced Nutrients Liquid CarboLoad. So far working good, only introduced 3 days ago so we'll see how it goes. When I get more money I will be adding Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice and Tarantula, I heard with the Myco Madness it's like horse steroids for the roots!
NUTRIENTS.jpgMYCO MADNESS.jpgIMG00787-20101227-1651.jpg

The Whole veg "L" shaped tent, working great! I will be removing the rest of the lower racks to let the mothers grow now that they are transplanted. Eventually I will have them in 5-7 gallon Geopots. They really work! Definately worth the money.
WHOLE GROUP.jpg

Grand Daddy Purple, I love how she's turning out! She's the only one from seed in the room. It will be a sad but very happy day when I cut her. Thinking of possibly trying to let her revive to veg state again after harvest. She's very strong and the genetics seem to be great. Very, very big and strong!

I couldn't have done this without all the great support from everyone. I just want to thank Rollitup.org for providing me with such a great resource!

Thanks Captain Jaz for the great tips and support, you're what I call "Good Peoples"!
I wish I could send you some when I'm finished.:hump:

I really appreciate the comment, thanks! I got to say though, I'm home on disability so I have alot of time to spend with them. I also found a good mentor to help me and also did hours of research on RIU before I started. I also consider myself lucky too, "knock on wood" that so far everything has been going good!

The nutrients really make a difference in my opinion so far. I still haven't gotten all my nutrients I wanted yet either! I'm making notes on all the strains as I grow so I can really learn about each strain and how to grow them the best I can.

Thanks again TokeSmoke420 +rep:mrgreen:

DIY Co2 Generator is a must have for any newcomer i been posting this every where as i see most people dont even bother with Co2 boosting at all you could already be doing this but i just wanted to throw it in just in case, i use a 150w HPS for everything, i only need 2 plants and i top them and low stress train them so they dont get taller than 2-3 feet, i have gotten some massive colas with Co2 boosting as everyone kept telling me my light wouldnt do it, but oh where they wrong when they were smoking the buds i had, this was my first grow too and they loved it and were amazed i got such good results with such a low wattage light, but then again i only grow 2 plants more than that you will for sure need more lighting.

i know most probably dont believe me but i am new to the forum and if i had or kept the pictures from that grow i would gladly upload them to show you im not bullshitting. im in the midst now of my 12 grow, i was always really scared of forums and just kept to myself but i said fuck it who cares what can they do, not shit. so here i am and i cant wait to show you guys the results i get this time, heh right now i have this mutant that started flowering itself within four days of sprouting, i have never seen such a odd looking plant to be honest in all my life, its been growing more and now the pistils are growing out the end of the leaves, crazy i know but it exist i have some crappy pictures not the best i dont have any good camera for up close pictures but you can clearly see it started growing with pistils and nothing else. my other one is just fine though, im interested to see how my mutant will grow as its very unheard of and unlikely for any plants to start flowering so soon. none the less im babbling.

here are the links to those DIY Co2 generators if you havent already made them yourself, seeing as you seem to be a crafty guy like me and i will do whatever it takes to pinch a penny in places that are needed you probably already have some. aw i miss sweet tooth now that i saw the end here heh. i just connect my tubes to my fan but if you can get them in the water with a air stone i bet that would prove some killer results. nice grow loving it, pretty professional for a being so new. :)
