1st Try PC Grow. Lets see how it goes.

Hi everyone. This is my 1st grow and it's PC to boot. vegging for about 4 weeks, since technically it's still a seedling until 4 weeks, then start the flowering. I'm also going to lst the plant. I'm not expecting a big yield. This is more about smoking my own rather than how much can I get.

Here's my case:

The light is a 30 watt 2700k cfl. Since most of the growing is going to be flowering I bought a bulb with a flowering spectrum.

Here's the plant at about a week:

Sorry the pics are so damn fuzzy. All I have is my cell camera. I'll try to get a decent camera soon. I'll try to get weekly updates.

Keep growing people.

Looks like things are moving along nicely. Anyone have anything to say on my grow?
I'm thinking about replacing my 1 2700k 30 watt cfl with 3 smaller 2700k 13 watt cfl's. This would give me nine additional watts. More watts means more light and more light means more growth right?

My baby's leaves started turning yellow/brown and started feeling kinda crunchy. I could not figure out why but I think now it was a heat issue cause I realized my fan was not plugged in. So hopefully this problem is solved.

I started to lst it today. I'm using soldering wire to tie it down. It's a fairly soft material so I think it will do fine.

These are some shots of the stake.

And finally a top shot.

hey dude you might want to cover the container with some duct tape or something so you roots dont get exposed to the light

I would but I thought I should keep it clear. So I could see if my plant was getting root bound since it's in a small container. This way I could just see it and then transfer it into a bigger one.

nice job with the early lst.

I would switch the bulbs to the smaller ones, lower wattage cfls are more efficient in lumens per watt and it will give you better light coverage. also you would be able to switch bulbs out later to better adjust your color temp for flowering, but get "daylight" bulbs. The blue light from daylight temp bulbs are better for tight, bushy young plants.
Your 2700k bulbs (warm/soft white) would be better for flowering. Personally I'd switch to the 3 smaller bulbs, run 2 daylight and 1 soft/warm white for veg then I'd switch to 2 soft and 1 daylight for flowering

when do we get to see the box? :D

I know my bulb right now is for flowering but I'm doing 12/12 for seed so I didn't care that it was for flowering. I'll try to get some pics of it in it's natural habitat.

I've decided to name her(hopefully) Esme.

Hey Neph

Case looks good mate. Looks like it could support the 3 lights no prob but maybe see how the plant recovers before you fit them. Esme looks like she got too hot with those fans off and an extra 25% light/heat would kill her off unless you can vent it.
The LST is looking great and the solder wire should be fine. Just keep moving it up the plant until all the lower branches are the same height as the main top.
Have you put some decent holes in the bottom of the container she's in?

get a power bar and get some bulb adaptors from home depot/lowes/walmart. make a row of three 42w cfls and tie it near the top of ur case. your waste space by putting it in the middle. cover up ur container, u wont get root bound anytime soon. root bound will show when your roots raise above the ground... just transplant before flowering

Esme looks fine, seems to be recovering nicely, and yeah the container has holes.

Looks like Esme made a full recovery. Time for the new lights :)
You could try and fashion a reflector too, just to squeeze that little extra out of the bulbs.
It's looking really promising. Keep the pics coming.

Just put the new lights in while she was sleeping. Hope it didn't disturb her to much, I tried covered her up so she stayed dark. I tied her down some more to try to get everything level. I'll try to get some pics up later.

Her growth seems to be stunted, compared to the previous week, but I've seen that happen around this age so I'm not to worried. All is going well.

Well I was at work yesterday when around six I got all call from me mum asking me what I was growing in the closet. I told her it's exactly what it looks like. Needless to say there was a bunch of yelling and cusing going on, all of it her and aimed towards me.

So I'm stressed the rest of the day I get home and look in my closet and open my P.C. case and there is Esme, all happy and healthy. I was so confused, but kinda thankful. Guess the P.C. case is stealthy enough.

It turned out what my mom had found was actually an empty bowl with dirt in it, I planned on starting another plant. So I moved Esme to a friends house for safe keeping. I could of left it in my closet but I didn't want to risk getting caught growing pot twice.

So Esme well get settled in her new home and I'll get updates on her later.
