Hi. I just retired a 1000w 6x4x8 hhomemade 2x4 and poly tent. I picked up another ballast and hood so going to up grade to 5x10 or two 5x5. My question regards venting the setup. I have one 6" 400+ cfm inline fan hooked up to the filter. Being pulled through hood and out of room via ceiling. I can't run both 1000w lights at the same time, as im still on 120v so I am goin to run them like 11h 59min each. And stagger them. One on, one off. My question is what should I do with getting warm air out? Seperste fan and carbon filter for each room seems to be the only option? I just don't want to cut another 6" hole in my ceiling. Any suggestions? Plan on running them rigt next to each other. Also, it seems like airflow through the lights would be way better without goon through carbon filter, but then how to pull warm ambien air out. Sorry for typos. iPhone > me

I would go with 2 5x5's then because they will have a hole in the ceiling in each. It will also be easier than trying to build and seal a partition in a 5x10. Extracting room air through carbon filter, through light and out the room all in one go with 1 big fan is the way to go IMO. I think it's only worth having separate light and room ventilation systems if you are running CO2 in the room. Also, did you think about running a flip flop relay so you could power both lights off 1 ballast running 24/7?

EDIT: Just realized you probably meant you didn't want to cut another 6" hole in your house ceiling, not your tent ceiling... I was thinking about pre-made tents not DIY. Well, you could open that hole up to 8" and run both 6" into a 6x6x8 Y adapter, and 8" duct through your ceiling. That may be your best bet. Or you may be able to get by just going with a 6x6x6 Y adapter and have just your 6" fan extracting both rooms, and keeping the current size hole in your ceiling. Depends what your ambient temps are like n the room the tents in. 5x10x8 is 400cf so you would be getting 1 room change a minute which is marginal.

ive decided to hire an electrician to upgrade the room. It seemed kinda ridiculous to put so much effort to avoid doing it the right way. I would rather run one light cycle in a larger room, so i wont need to partician. SO now i just need to know how to upgrade to 2 1kw digital ballasts, run several fans, and have a 800w veg area in the same circuit. I am not even going to attempt to think about trying this myself, so i just need to know what to tell the electrician to install? Im guessing im going to want about 4kw capacity. better more than less! I think i need a subpanel? again, not even attempting myself, just need to know what to tell the electrician.

This way i can run a sealed room with AC and co2
