whats up exo, yes the ufo's do work.I just had to jump on to let you guys know that I recently picked up 2 more ufo's off e-bay new 400usd. Thats less than what I paid for my tri-band red/blue/orange.Just make sure you get the ufo's with 660nm red diodes, the specs are usually in the advertisement. Whatever you do dont get the 620-630 nm models, 660 nm is much better. peace

I've heard a lot of bad things about the UFO's NOT FROM HID HUT how they go out super fast and don't compare at all to the TRUE UFO'S be careful there are alot of immitators out there. Especially when they are first hitting the market. I mean even the UFO isn't fully dialed in yet. I'm sure in the coming years it will be the future light of every grow room but truefully it just doesn't produce yeilds that compare to HID's I'm not bagging on the UFO's just saying I wouldn't buy the UFO from anyone else except HID HUT.

Looking good bro. I like the way the light makes the plants look. Really cool. I imagine it looks a hell of a lot cooler accutally standing in there. How bright is it on the eyes? Or what about light penetration. I know my 400w shines through the closet like a space shuttle is about to land lol.

I'm very glad to hear that lol. I'm just saying I've talked to people personally (at my local hydro store) who fell for the scam. Two months in the thing wouldn't work and the company won't fix or give him a new one.

thanks. yeah the red is very bright on the eyes and most ppl cant stand it for very long. me on the other hand have been in there so much its no big deal to me. when i close the closet most ppl see green! a big concern last time and still is how much they penetrate, which isnt very deep. thats why i trimmed all the lower braches and left about 4 to 6 in.

ok so i will be following this very closely i have been growin with leds but only as supplumental lighting..But i am also using some of the solid blue leds for the clone box. These seem to be pretty damn good.Soon going to be investing in the ufo. ok edit... I forgot to ask you a couple questions last time i posted.. How much stretching is happening with the ufo's and the other question is roughly how far does the light penetrate through the canopy

thanx man, I'm new to this site and I noticed theres a cfl club, a 250-400w hps club, and so on.One thing I immediately noticed is that these clubs are a good place for the prospective grower to obtain vital info.I wouldnt even know how to get started but would anyone be interested in starting an ongoing thread to compile all this info. If for nothing else, to steer the poor eager technophiles that we are away from the shitty products that litter the web?

The plants I grew were small sog types the tallest was 20 inches, and a couple of clones that stopped growing at six inches, and then blew out to the size of a softball-weird. I kept the ufo about 6 inches above the canopy- with the sattelite system around the ufo, the light was beaming down very intensely, but even without the satellite, from my limited experience, I'd say 2 feet, or at least 2 feet of penetration. The deep 660nm reds, I believe, have taken care of the stretching issues people had with the earlier units. Also in the earlier experiments people were hanging these things 2 feet above 10 plants, and expecting ten pounds. I had no problem with stretching with my method. And I cant stress enough the importance of sub canopy lighting, hang some far red bulbs down into the garden. In other words light that fucker up. peace btw-check out my gallery if you get the time

honestly the lights are very nice and do work i certain areas of growth. the main problem i have seen is that the stems dont thicken up as nicely as CFL or HPS, which in turn wil produce smaller buds. the stretching was alright, i have multiple strains so it was pretty hard to keep all level. read my last post for the penetration.

i got some of the three fox farm solubles from a buddy this morning and gave them their first watering with open sesame. lets see if it makes a difference in the days to come.

Mine started to show sex 4 days after I used the open sesame. They have also only stretched about 3-4 inchs in the last 3 weeks of flowering. I was really worried that being sativas they were gonna stretch a couple feet. I'm assuming the open sesame helped with that.
