2 x 150w hps in min 2 ft cab

ok so some dimensions first my cab is
2ft x 2ft.10 x 2ft.10 so 8.82 cbft

MY question is, i know they will fit on my roof of cab, BUT will there be enough space to keep safe distance form plants?
with my pot i will only have 2ft of grow space
so if i can sit my lights flush with ceiling this should be fine right?

Also will they be any heat issues i am currently running 2 x 45w cfl + 1x 150w cfl and temps are around 75-85f so no probs there but will two 150w hps generate more heat?
My exhaust is 1 x 200mm pc fan at the moment but i am planning on adding an extra pc fan to create a better negative pressure

Planning on buying these http://www.3ch.co.uk/grow-lights/hid-grow-lights/150-watt-digilight-flowering-system/prod_1150.html any one had any experience with them?

good, bad, indifferent?

Any responses are appreciated dont want to buy 140 quids worth of light to only have to take them down due to lack of space or heat issues

thanks and
peace riu from the uk

or 2 x 250w or is that just getting silly
new to all this and have done a fair bit of research amd got one sort of successful organic grown out of the way
the hydroponics site which is selling the lights says its best to keep the 150w 8 inches from plant so that only leaves 17 inces of space for growth
however ive been reading the nugbuckets lab thread and some of his plants are yielding nearly 3 ozs at just 13 inches so i guess its possible to get a good enough yield????

Again any advice comments appreciated thanks

"Ideally you want a minimum of 50w of hps light per square foot of grow space"..................... is this true?

ok so it seems two 250w hps will be crazy for the heat in such a small space.
is this right or am i just being paranoid dont want a a fire risk as i live in a block of flats.

so maybe two 150w would be better

any out there that can confirm this for me? as trawling internet is starting to seem fruitless any know of a thread for a closet grow with 2 150hps? every one just seems to use 1 :-?

You are def right that it is too much. Just throw a 250 or a 150 in it and get all the necessary air extraction and cooling equipment because that will be a tough fight with the heat. You may need to LST your plants as well.

For that space, use one 250W HPS. One 250W will be plenty and it will be difficult enough to deal with that much heat.

$155 Lumatek 400W/250W electronic ballast (in case you want to do 400W later somewhere larger)
$17 Ultra Sun 250W HPS lamp

LST the plants as soon as possible and do ScROG-style training, you can get 2-8oz. from one plant in that space.
You will need a better fan, squirrel cage, mixvent, or inline blower type in order to keep the temperatures under control; Especially in flower when all the exhaust air must go through a carbon filter to take care of the smell.

cheers for the replies guys

cana.. i will be lst'ing when i mainline... so you think one or the other.... a 250 or 150.... not 2 150's?

herba.. haha thanks for links man... but i wont be doing a 400w anytime soon, just dont have the room :( that bulb looks good but.... would it work in this reflector http://3ch.co.uk/grow-lights/hid-grow-lights/microlite-reflector/prod_1264.html... "using a 150watt Grow Lamp, but can also be used with a 250watt" .... i presume it would as it takes 150w-250w and i presume it only matters on the ballast.... i cant see reflectors being bulb specific or am i wrong?

also i have one pc fan in there at the moment, just recently changed it from a 6 inch desk top fan attached to some ducting... before i changed i couldn't have my door closed because temps with the cfls mentioned above could get to 110f
but now with just the one pc fan, temps stay at a confortable 83F with the cfls.....door shut all day (the exhaust fan is always blowing into a homemade carbon filter)

i thought maybe if i added another pc fan inline with the existing one this should be good enough cant remember what cfm the pc fans are

also if my hps are on the roof of the box....... they wont be inside the cab as such.. if you see what im saying...... so this could also help keep temps down?? or am i wrong
thanks again for you're replies! sorry about all questions complete newb when it comes to hps set ups
peace from the uk and happy growing

Well what did u end up doing? I have done the 2 x 150 watt grow before yielded 2.7 oz, could have did better, wasn't until the last week of flower that I realized I had been using water from a tap that was connected to the water softner.
