Im in berkshire, but on a well. I have 6.9 out my tap.

I will say this though, I have grown autos this year, maybe 15 or so of them. I have had 3-4 just totally stop at a certain point. No water uptake, all yellow, no more growth. No explanation that I can find, they just stop while the other ones keep going for a few more weeks. I feel like autos have been a totally different experience than the traditional grows. Post a few pics, sometimes you just get bad genetics on the autos and with such a short period any mistakes and you are sorta stuck.
same thing with my white lsd auto from msnl week 4 flower i will upload photos when I can but I've read this article from dept of agri and I think im sold on getting RO, didnt have issues until flipping to flower other 3 strains are ethos cresendo also yellowing and my jack herer is totally fine my sour D is 3 weeks ahead of the rest and isn't showing cal def. I think my issue is my root ph is probably above 7 and when I try to drive it down with phosphoric acid the buffer in the tap water nulls it.

I don't have a ton of experience messing with PH honestly. Hopefully someone chimes in this morning and has some tips for you on that. The only other thing I noticed with autos is that some of the plants would chug, and some wouldn't take much water. Is there any possibility that those are drinking slower, but watering them just as much is messing them up?

PH is probably whats happening but trying to think of anything I can to help.

anything helps i used to with in vermont and all the water was so pure from the tap only have lived here a year first time dialing in this set up. pretty much already might know my own answer, just nice to have others drive it home. thank you for taking time to reply I know its not outdoor but saw Massachusetts and was like oh hey maybe this is happening to other growers

whats up fellow massholes , long time lurker first time posting but perhaps anyone in the berkshire county area use the tap water?! I've been finding a unique problem now 5 weeks into flower and my auto white lsd is in major nute lockout and cal def. I've been feeding this water along with advanced nutrients ph perfect(which isn't working). just went to wally world to get my first RO water but man it sucks to resort to buying it . seems like everyone praises tap water unless u seem to live close to a limestone quarry. be that as it may has anyone else encountered this issue my assumption is to switch to bottled and eventually possibly end up purchasing a RO filter (will add cal/mg) . ps tap water is 8.3 from tap no change after gassing off.ppm out of tap is 175 to 200. sorry if this question has been asked already just really need some local advice!

You're growing in soil?

Using soil unless your using bottled nutes, PH should be of no concern. The PH is buffered in the rizoshpere around the root zone.

With auto’s esp. outdoor once it goes sideways it’s all done, they dont recover well. Best advice is quality bagged water oil soil and no nutes, maybe some grokashi/malted barley thats it.

Unfortunately I doubt that plant will recover, thats just how they are. Finicky.

Any auto I’ve had go sideways hasn’t recovered either and I’ve only grown Mephisto and night owl which have great genetics to start with.
Thanks for the info, solid advice!!

I’ve had good luck with coast of maine stonington mix and just water start to finish. NO TRANSPLANT’s, plant it right in the finishing pot.

edit: one must also make sure they either filter for chlorine with a hose filter or let it evap off, the chlorine with destroy the microbes in the quality soil.

Great idea with the trash barrel. About how much of the barrel do you fill
I usually fill it up almost all the way ... for every 5 gal of water I use 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide ... I attached a hose spigot at the bottom of the barrel to easily drain the water out the greenhouse... it’s the same bucket I use to drain my waste water when washing bubble hash

Second person who recommended that soil to me in the past two weeks for autos.

will use it when I pop my tent back up in a few weeks!

vitamin c powder (ascorbic acid) will also remove chlorine and chloramine from tap water instantly... you only need a tiny bit, like half a teaspoon per 5 gallons... it’s so much easier than filtering or waiting for chlorine to evap

I always wash my outdoor, even in a greenhouse... my primary concern is any hidden PM or mold spores ... I use a 10 gal trash barrel with 2 cups peroxide, none of the other shit... after you see what’s floating in the water you’ll never go back
Now Im intrigued. Especially when you mention hidden spores. Im a visual learner and I can see myself doing this. How much water/2 cups peroxide mix? Do you fill the 10 gallon barrel?? Im assuming 9-10 gallons?

yea about 1 cup peroxide for every 5 gallons of water... I used to just use a 5 gallon bucket but now I need to use a 10 because the buds are so big... I also keep a bucket next to it with just water to quick rinse after the peroxide... I then just shake the water off and hang in front of a fan for about an hour or two before drying

Morning report, so I had a little bud rot on a decent cola which I chopped the top off, theres a pic somewhere back there, I stuck it in a little stone square boz and forgot about it, found it this morning, it molded FAST. I put it in a ziplock in trash, washed out the box and lid and key and junk that was in box, and my hands. So thats one pic. Then I looked around and see I bthink I burned a couple plants with too high of potassium, they had a little yellow purple, and I fed them again yesterday, they dont look happy. Thats a couple other pics, and just a couple black and whites I took. This morning it is damp, foggy, drizzly and rain reported heavy just to the north of me. Gonna be a soggy week, have to keep a very close eye on the kids.

So I am thinking of taking @doug mirabelli advice and doing the wash with peroxide, only question about that I have is this, if you wash all your bud, and there is hidden spores/rot/gunk in the colas, wont you be adding that to colas that you dip after that that dont have anything? And when you say wash, do you mean submerge and take out, or stir them, shake them? Is there a method??

10 gallon trash can, 2 cups peroxide, Ive also heard there are good results with Oxidate??? But as a first timer, Ill probably go with the peroxide, as doug seems to really know what he is talking about. And my problem child, I took her yellow leaves off. shes still a little sickly, (yellow plant in pic) more importantly, Im starting to see leaves yellowing here and there, and Im hoping its from the end of life cycle, as there are only 2-3 weeks left.

If they can survive the dang rain.

Last note, do you guys think I should flush out that high potassium I added?? Is it too late? Was about 24 hours ago. I fed them a week ago exactly, and watered them in between, but not as much as I usually do. Usually I soak them, but this past week I gave em just enough to not be thirsty, like 1-2 liters apiece.

Can you see how foggy it is in the last picture???

I am using the 3 part advanced nutes ph perfect dumping down the drain and switching to mega crop
