I have a bubblegum kush plant that is growing on 3 leaves. I noticed the change when I switch her to a 24/0 cycle. When she was on a 18/6 she was 3 to 4 inches tall with 4 to 5 fan leaves.

Here's a pic when she was in the 18/06 cycle

And here an updated pic now that she's in a 24/0 cycle.. only 3 leaves.
has anyone experienced this before? Notice how the bottom leaves have 5 fan leaves? that was the 18/6 cycle. Top leaves are 24/0 with 3 fan leaves.... What's going on?

Hey K06, that seems to be normal for me when I clone my SuperLemonHaze, other strains don't really do it...but I remember reading somwhere a N deficency can cause fewer fan leaves too but I'm not sure on that, I wouldn't worry bout it, stay medicated:leaf:
edit: also I think you should stick with 18/6, more natural autmosphere for ur girls

Maybe it's nothing to worry about... but I just want her to be normal lol. Also my purple kush Mother is doing the same, she's on a 24/0 cycle and she's producing 2 to 3 leaves. Maybe 24/0 cycles aren't the way to go with 600 MH bulbs... because I've done 24/0 cycles with cfls and that never happen to me. Gonna have to switch em back to 18/6

its the plant itself most likely. Especially if the mother is doing it too. Nothing i'd worry about.....
As for light cycle and mimicking a natural environment the thing there is that we are not growing for the same reason as nature does. In nature the whole point is to flower and have those flowers then be pollinated to make as many seeds as possible to continue the species, we are growing for seedless plants to be harvested at peak levels of cannaboids to be dried and smoked, however i will agree with you he should go to 18/6 instead of 24/0. vegging with cfls you want a bushy compact plant with a 600w mh you can deal with the stretching effect of the lights off time with no problem compared to cfls, so since it penetrates so much better a bigger plant can be grown more effectively, If cfls are going to be used ive found 24/0 to be the way to go as you want smaller bushier plants.

yeah, i missed something important though earlier, the first few weeks under hid i do tend to do 24/0 then when they are more established flip to 18/6.

The Mother and the bubblekush are 2 complete different strains. The Mother is a Purple kush and she was doing ok producing 4 to 5 fan leaves till I switched her to the 24/0... my bubblegum kush aswell. Am gonna switch them both back to 18/6 and am pretty sure there gonna go back to normal and produce 4 to 5 leaves. I'll post results within a week.

also the reason I keep both in 24/0 is am planning to keep both as mums, I keep them in same tents after I make the switch... I have 15 plants now in total (just got some clones) and i do a switch everyday for 12/12 cycle since all 15 can't fit in the tent.
