24 hour light cycle during veg??

I have been running my Veg room 24/0 and have never had any problems. I veg under CFL's and Bloom under HPS.
Check out my first grow below.
My yields have been outstanding.

I personally run the 24/0 because im a basement grower and it gets down to about 50F... not the best for clones and sprouts. With the lights on 24/0 my temps hover around 60-62F.
Bloom room is around 65 during lights on and 50-52 lights off, but the mature plants can take the cool temps since we are trying to mimic fall.

Good Luck.

the plants dont grow as much during the day because they spend it changing light, water and co2 into C6H12O6 aka glucose or sugar, then during the night cycle all that stored glucose is broken down into ATP and NADPH which is the energy the cells use for mitosis and growth. so 24hrs of light from a strictly plant physiology stand point id cut back to at least 20/4 which will still give them enough time produce AND use that energy that it gathers in the "daytime"

sorry if that was confusing im working towards a degree in plant molecular structure/ general bio.
good luck!

I'm not saying it WILL cause problems but it could and think about it this way dude.
so you keep your lights on 24/7 for all veg and your plants are stunted, but when you flip to 12/12 they do explode maybe even 3 feet, BUT
If you veg at 20/4 or 18/6 and your plants grow and extra half foot or more over the stunted 24/7 ones and still stretch 2 feet when flipped....
IF that were how it worked they both equal out to the same height in the end so why spend the extra money for 6 more hours of light a day for really no increase in size.

i would strongly not run plants on 24 hr cycles ok some that do lmaoooooo there running cfls and low power but try running 24 hr cycles with 1000 watts + and see what you get
i run 10,000 watts and i will post pics of how fckt up they look after 18 hrs being droopy etc there just plain out tired of the lumens
110,000 lumens per light to be exact

You are furshore wrong about that i always do 24/7 in veg and swear by it since i tried it for myself. The things i like about it as soon as they hit the flower room they have buds started within 24 hours. It puts them into like super flower at least i think but i hit them with plenty of c02. I think it helps forms buds closer together up and down branches as well once i started flowering look for yourself and tell me these are under a 1000 watt mh and have only been growing 3 weeks they are staying bushy but getting plenty tall still. I know this pic my plants need water. But i started out doing 18/6 and switch to 24 hours and never went back i notice the difference that is my opinion.

heres a quote from the info...i read it all...seems they dissagree and dark inhibits things.

Regulation of Calvin Cycle: Regulation prevents the Calvin Cycle from being active in the dark, when it might function in a futile cycle with Glycolysis and Pentose Phosphate Pathways, wasting ATP and NADPH.
Light activates, or dark inhibits, the Calvin Cycle (previously called the "dark reaction") in several ways.

i keep all my clones and mothers under 24/0 to keep mom's short and bushy ... but producer's go on 18/6 through vegge.

would the clones do better under 18/6? don't you get more root growth during the dark cycle?

DR FEVER, I SEE YOUR PICS AND THE DIFFERENCE IN PICS SAYS IT ALL MINE ARE LIKE 2 FT TALL AND WAY MORE BUSHIER THEN THOSE ONES YOU HAVE HAD FOR 2 WEEKS. YOU ONLY USE CO2 DURING FLOWER. WHAT PLANTS YOU THINK LOOK HEALTHIER HERE ARE SOME MORE PICS YOU JUDGE. CAN YOU TURN BUDS PURPLE LIKE THAT YOUR 1 WEEK OF FLOWER. I INCLUDED PICS OF WHAT THE LOOK LIKE 1 WEEK IN FLOWER AFTER YOU MOVE THEM. THEY PUT THE PICS IN A MESSED UP ORDER THE BABY IS 4 DAYS OUT OF GERM, THE SHORT ONE IS 1 WEEK AND THE REST ARE 3 WEEKS ON VEG ALL I DO IS 4 THEN I FLOWER, THE FLOWER PLANTS ARE ON DAY NUMBER 7 OF FLOWERING TODAY SO YOU LOOK AT THE DIFFERENCE IN PLANTS AND TELL ME WHICH YOU WOULD RATHER HAVE STICK WITH 24/7 IN VEG IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT.

I run mine under HID's 24/7. 1000 watt lights that never turn off, never had a problem.
