Hi folk, anyone able to fit a 250w cfl in a 5inch cool tube? I'm thinking using 2 x 250w or 1 x 250 red and x 125w blue.

Man you're going to get an ear full of one sided opinions with this. 100% being rather critical and delivered with gratuitous cruelty and online bullying until you tap out. you're not growing anything with a CFL in a cool tube. Red and blue cfl's are party or porch decorations not grow lights lol.

Where would you get the high wattage red and blue CFLs? All I've ever seen are 13w. WeedBulbs has some good 26w bulbs though, and not just coated like some of the cheap "party" bulbs. Really though all you need is white plus some extra red. Doubt you would need to use pure blue at all.
