Hey I'm kinda new to growing and this is the big plant we have going right now.

It has been vegging under 6 cfls (forgot what lumens and watts but we bought the lights based on several other cfl grows) for about 25 days.

It is on an 18/6 light cycle in a rubbermaid grow box with an out-take fan on top and a big intake fan fan as well to strengthen the stems.

I gave my first go at LST'ing about three days ago.

It is watered with de-chlorinated water with about a 1/2 tablespoon of molasses added to it.

Also added a little blood meal after it was re-poted last week.

Let me know what you guys think about it. It is some random bag seed that we got last winter. Thanks :joint:

I don't know what is on the leaves, it doesn't seem to be affecting anything. My camera lens is fairly dusty as well so I will clean it up and take new pics in a couple days.

It already has stretched out quite a bit since I took those pics ( about 3 days ago).

I was nervous to LST since I have never done it before but the plant seemed to handle it quite well.

The leaves that are touching the dirt in the pictures have perked up off the surface a little.

Anyone know if there are any signs of sex yet?

It looks nice, green and healthy.

Have you been misting your plant?

Do you have hard water? That is what the white stuff on the leaves looks like.

We did mist in the past but don't anymore. Tap water was used right away but now I have some ph'd balanced water mixed with a bit of molasses.

Well I think it is a female. I see distinct hairs coming out at each node. Is it possible for it to show sex before flowering?

at first I was going to say hey that's a long time for a small plant but it was from seed. I think mixing soft white with daylight cfls is best. Learn how many watts in total you have from the cfls. Try not to use anything weaker than 23 watts, you'll end up needing too many bulbs.

The bulbs are 26 watt I believe. One of them burned out just the other night so I think I'm going to pick out a couple daylight bulbs to mix in as well.

I'll have new pics as well when I get off work, it really has sprouted up a lot in the past few days

anybody figured out whats on them leaves yet??
Could have been from using regular tap water earlier in the grow...

It doesn't seem to be affecting anything so I'm not worried too bad.

I did a little more LST'ing to that main cola, it really got big over night after a drink of some molasses.

I'll take some pics of it later this evening, thanks for the comments guys :bigjoint:

Also have two good looking seedlings going as well, they are working on their second set of leaves already

ya i bet that stuff on the leaves is from tap water. i get that on my 3 week old seedlings occasionally when i use tap water without letting it stand for at least 24 hours before i water them. that helps let some clorine out but also it reduces whatever that is to. at least it worked for me. it doesnt effect my growth either. check out my cfl growbox at

Yea we now let the water sit out a couple days before we use it and it seems to be working.

Nice grow box btw, looks like a perfect little setup.

I really want to try a 12/12 from seed.

Do you get as big of a yield going 12/12 right away?

This is my first time doing 12/12 from seed. I spent a couple hours looking on different forums for pics of 12/12 from seed and it wasn't uncommon to see an 4-6 per plant. I even seen some that produced 10-15 gram per plant. I think that the more epxperience you have the bigger harvEst you will have. I think the hardest part is learning your plants. Like when they need more water and ferts. Until all is perfect.

Oh ya I got 3 12/12s planted and like 6 more seeds germinating. I will keep updated pics of them on the thread that is linked in my signature.

New pics, did a little more LST'ing to it. Added some daylight bulbs as well to the box.

Would it be bad to wait a couple weeks to flower so the smaller ones have a little time to veg?

I would like to flower the big one and the smaller ones at the same time.
