With autoflowers you do not need to get the colored lights. the large cfls get quite hot, so start planning for that now.
i tried some 105 watt bulbs (3) of them, and my small cabinet turned into a damn oven.

i use a 200w CFL for Veg time and mothers.

Sorry cannot comment on anything else other than to say if you are using CFL's to do a whole grow then you should look to train your Auto so that you make the most of your light source as CFL's dont have great penetration so try to keep and even canopy by using LST or similar techniques.

hey

I use 250 watt plug and grows, one red one blue, starting with blue on 18/6 and then 12/12, havnt used autos yet but am planning them for next grow,,start next month.
I find the cfl's run warm, which keeps the temp up near 27-29 degree C. which is nice for the plants...an insures they use all the water I give um...
Got nice nuggets from the lower branchs, and a biggy terminal bud,,its not an auto so I cant say,but would also be intrested in finding out.

I would check the prices on a 250W HPS first. They produce way more light per watt compared to CFLs and they aren't too pricey.
