I called them yesterday. Outrageous prices, the man at Hydropotecary told me that these prices are in place due to 24/7 customer services and guaranteed supply of medication. I told him from a patient's point of view that the prices his firm chose are not fair and if you do not have a license to distribute, how in the hell did you come up with this ridiculous price range. He replied: All LCPs can choose the price they wish to sell their medication and we chose these numbers because we can assure you of our great services. Feels like a rip-off to me, I kindly wished him "Goodluck" and I hope they think about their patient's feedback more than the Green ($$$).

I would not care about the price. People who bitch about price or have to make choices between things they want, are not the kind of people I want anywhere near me! Do you think any luxury companies give a shit about your broke ass?

From this comment alone we know exactly what kind of person you are!!! If you have never had to choose between things like for instance food or medicine.. Well then you have lived a privileged life and should try and walk in someone else's shoes who actually needs this medicine. Not just for recreational use. Some patients need this medicine just to make it threw everyday and due to there illness they were not as fortunate as everyone else. By the way when did illness other than MMJ need a fucking luxury line!!! These douchbags are in it for the rec user end of story.

Peace

I pay $200 an OZ here in Michigan for top bud. I had t shop around and travel an hour from my house to get that great deal. One needs to know what they are looking for since all the bud isn't top shelf where I buy mine, its a Clubhouse with many sellers who are mostly growers. I found one can judge how the bud is by looking at the grower-seller. I've been having the best luck buying buds from long hair dudes that look half out of it, lol..the guys that seem all alert and clean cut, well IKD, maybe some of them have good bud too but the old hippie dudes have the bud I am looking for at prices that I can't complain about.

But gee, I'm still going through around $100 a month on bud, thats still over $1,000 a year....U know, I must have spent a fortune on bud all of my life. Figure 30 or so years with the last few years for sure $2,000 a year before now.....$30,000 is my rough guess and I'm likely way off, lol

Oh well, least I don't gotta come up with $$$$ for Rehab, ha ha..those pills are cool until U are hook

Why is this even news? No one will buy from them. They just want to have a ultra premium brand ready to ship when legalization finally happens. To bad even then no one will pay those prices. Choke to death on your greed.

Completely out to lunch on pricing.
Anyone who pays that price per gram is a retard.
However this article makes excellent argument for lawyers like conroy who are fighting hc's new system.

Everyone says they want these free capitalist markets but this is what you get out of those

If hc wants to regulate the crap out of everything than they really do need to step in and regulate pricing too.
This is kind of like the insurance situation in canada. The government forces us to have valid car insurance but takes a hands off approach to regulating pricing so insurance companies can charge whatever the fuk they want when they want.
This is not what you get from a free market. Not even close.

This market is tightly controlled and extremely unfree. Notice how the CEO was a Liberal lacky. Gotta be connected to get in the game. This is how almost all industry works though. Gotta keep shit well controlled. God forbid folks are not dependent upon you.

I think folks will buy from them. Not average folks, but ego driven Bay Street types probably will.

Not sure that will be enough to keep them afloat. I've heard of people on Wall Street paying extra for ounces just to have bragging rights.

You're right there will always be people who want bragging rights. But $900 a oz when $300 a oz is currently more then anyone is willing to pay isn't going to fly. They need to start way lower build a name then offer the super premium bud. I'm not going to buy ciraque vodka because diddy is a spokesperson. Just as I won't buy Marley branded bud from Goofray. These jokers won't have much businnes to begin with and no repeat customers. Burn in hell ultra premium blood suckers.

Don't freak out guys....you see the " Peoples Plant " will not let them control it. It will let them think they are....until it let's them down.
Because you can grow it and not even need to know who those guys are. That's it's built in beauty...
YOU CAN GROW IT YOURSELF....

You figured out the answer without even realizing. Because they aren't licensed yet, they have to cover the cost of paying overhead while waiting and waiting and waiting. The price will go up again before they get approved, if at all with such a greedy business model. Their pricing used to be 16-20+ a strain a cpl months ago. Just shows that their feeling the heat and are compensating for additional accrued overhead costs simply due to not being licensed as soon as they probably forecasted. Have fun continuing to wait and wait and wait and..................wait.

Due to 24/7 service, pffft. Last I checked there isn't a ludicrous mark up on something I can get at the 24/7 convenience store compared to the grocery store. Some item's are slightly marked up but to say that convenience alone warrants a price 3.25X higher than your competitors(and that's on the low end) is simply mentally deficient in thought, let alone practice. Especially when those competitors are already getting fewer patients than even THEY had forecasted due to pricing. Have fun NEVER getting licensed ya fucken clowns

By the time they get a licence it will be 50$ a gram and then the only people who will be able to afford it will be all those french fukkers that keep winning the lotto

NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD TOSS OUT CASH!

It gets tossed out the back door guaranteed. I'm gonna bet at least 80% of lp's have shoved tons out the backdoor. Who is to say they did or did not? Really?
Anyone of them will take advantage of the shit system put in place, Why not? That's business. You have to work around HC and if you have to "make it work" you do whats needed in business and deal with the fall out after...........if there is any.

My son was all concerned when this MMPR joke of a program came out. I told him at the time with all the "Harper Government" and their cronies greedy hands in there, regulations and rules, they'd be lucky to turn a profit at $10/gram. At these "luxury" prices (wtf is that?) they should do really well, can't wait to buy some stock, or not. They should smoke one and re-think their dreamland business model. I grow it at around $1/gram, sell it for $4 to cancer patients who can afford it, give some out, and sell it at $7/gram to recreational smokers. Why the fuck would anyone have to resort to paying those rates is beyond me, fire their market analysis people and go back to the drawing board.

One thought that stuck out while I was reading the article. Do these guys know something we don't? They and others invested in these ops talk like this program will go forward as per Harper's view of the world. With a court case/appeal pending and an election coming up next year, is there some back room guarantee they're not telling us about? An investor with any common sense would surely consider those two (big) pending factors a red flag, wouldn't they? Can there be that many blind investors?
