lights aren't air cooled but maybe you have a plan for that, the fan on that carbon filter won't do even if the carbon in it is new.other than that . other than that at 275 it wasn't a totally bad deal. here you can't give that shit away for some reason.

Well it sounds like you bought some junk lights/ballasts and fans but for a first grow room it doesn't matter, it's learning time. You will upgrade eventually. If you really paid just 275 which I find hard to believe you did fine.
You should of spent at least 50 on a good pH meter.
Being you are in an apartment you should invest more into a better and bigger carbon filter as smell will be your main issue for security. 2- 400s and a 250??? All in that little tent? Heat will also be a major issue even with just 2-400s running.

I just realized you have a 4" carbon/fan for a 8" exhaust? A carbon filter needs to be on the exhaust, you do not want to intake with a 8" and attempt to exhaust with a 4"

Please verify your setup.

Do you have a 250w light setup to go with that extra bulb? You don't want to hook that bulb up to a 400w ballast. Not sure what would happen but I wouldn't want to be there...

Thanks... For all the info... I do have a plan for the heat on the lights ,.. remove The bulb cut 4inch hole above the bulb an run my exhaust from there, I have all the tools , an im a welder so it should be ok. I also had glass cut for lights also..i just ordered my 8" carbon filter. Thats the one im planning on running thru my lights... I hope that works...I do feel like a kid on xmas....2012-09-21 19.48.01.jpg2012-09-21 19.48.20.jpg

One 400 watter would work for your small space, two is possible. Heat is going to be a concern for you even with your DIY air-cooled lights. As far as yield goes, you definitely have the light to pull it off but it seems to come with experience. Just my two cents, and I'm far from a pro.

It's old skool but I personally prefer the paper towel method. Probably upwards of 90% success rate from bagseed in my experience. Thats just germination though, not a complete life cycle.
