2ND cfl grow, lots of changes

Well thanks to you fellas i have made loads of improvements to my closet. I painted the walls high gloss white, bigger cfm exhaust fan, 3 gallon grow bags instead of small pots, and black gold organic soil instead of miracle grow. this time i have the seeds in rockwool getting started instead of putting them right in soil. and i also added 5 more cfl's for a total of 13. 9 26w, 2 40w, and 2 60w cfl flood lights. I use blue spectrum for veg and red for flower. I will let you know how it goes. First grow was all hermies

hi, did you give them any stress on yor first grow? as you got all hermies, and whot light times did you use? looks like you have a not to bad cfl setup, good luck

You might want to revisit your paint. Its my understanding that you should use flat white.

the finish of the white paint isnt that crucial, it'd be different if he got the wrong color paint or something, but its just the finish. my grow room is covered in visqueen plastic (black on one side, white on the other) and its kinda got a gloss to it too and it works well for reflecting light.

p.s. 99.9% of the time the hermaphrodite trait is genetic and seldomly due to stress, so its probably not ur fault. but hermie's are smokeable and the seeds from them are very viable and more than likely femenised. so if you woulda got at least 10 seeds from the last grow about 7 or 8 of them would be female, and 2 or 3 of them would be either male or hermie. from my understanding thats usually the case when growing hermie, and seeds from hermies.

Im still in the begining process of breeding, Im just now on my 5th grow, during the last grow I had a few hermies also, but at harvest only a few buds had seeds in them. The smoke from the hermie was better than some of the pure females Ive had thru out my growing days, so I always think its best to let them grow out and still smoke the bud. Unfortunately one plant had immature seeds, while the other plants seeds were fully ripe, those are the seeds I'll be using for my next grow.

not a Huge deal and certainly not an expensive fix but...... flat white paint is much better for your babies than the high gloss. At least so says Jorge Cervantes Growers Bible

They did get stressed out a lot in the begining. Actually it was a total mess, i changed them from inside to outside back to inside, and i jacked them all around. i was tring to listen to too many people at the same time. The paint has to stay now, not only cause it was 12 a quart but my last plant is almost ready to harvest and i need to veg in there. My hermies were a great smoke, i had over an ounce (with about 120) seeds, After picking them all out it is killer bud, n ice crystals all over the buds and leaves

Thanx spittin, i used 10 seeds in rockwool this time, from my hermies. I took the best 5 and put them in black gold today. I only used the best five because i didnt have enough soil and its hard to get here. they are in 3 gallon bags. What is the average height YOU let your plants get before you start 12/12???? i have been hearing all kinds of different answers, my room 1s 3x3

?? so you cant make them in to hermies by stresing them?? if you stress them, ie, light timeing, moveing them about, temps up and down and lots moor thay can and will tern hermie!! grow and learn,,

Hi everyone: Not sure if I am posting this correctly. This is my first grow. Two Females under a dome of 18 fluorescent tubes. Mixed. Some cool white, some soft white, some grolux--all mixed up. Also 9 cfls scattered in between and on the ends. The tubes are 4 ft. The seeds came out of an old bag of pot seeds found in the drawer of our desk. Nobody can remember where they came from or anything about them. The girls are five months old and have been on 12/12 for exactly 8 weeks now. Huge colas the size of beer cans--only longer. Plants are four and a half feet tall. Still haven't seen any amber trichomes--just milky. Yellow and purple leaves everywhere. The high is good--but too cerebral. I want the trichomes to get slightly amber. The buds are actually still growing new white pistils. I have quit fertilizing. Water only from now on. I'm getting impatient. Yesterday I changed the light cycle to 10/14. Think that will get things going? Anybody. Also, about half of the pistils have turned brown. But some are still white, and more white ones keep growing. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! And remember........Don't Bogart That Joint My Friend!!
