the square foot of 2mx2m is 43ft x 50w = 2150
how would i convert that to evenly cover my tent
if i got 4 400w id be 350wunder
if i go with the 600w im 250w over

The ideal lighting is 50-80 watts per square footage. I would use the 50 as my goal and go higher if needed....so I would be looking at 2 1000 watts (if your electrical breaker can handle it) or 4 600s (assuming they will fit in your tent). I run one 1000 watt in my 5x5 and I'm a little underpowered by that formula (40+ watts per square foot), so you do have some flexibility.

so the 4 x 600w would be alright that would give me 55w per foot
should i get a bigger extractor fan then to get rid of some of the heat i was planning on getting a 8" extractor and a 5" intake

I don't run an intake in my 5x5....just a 6 inch exhaust fan and one air cooled hood. That creates negative pressure in the tent and helps to keep odors from escaping. I would think you would be fine with an 8 inch exhaust fan and skipping the intake.

Hopefully someone with experience in these larger tents guide you.

4 m^2 = 43 ft^2

43 ft^2 * 50 W/ft^2 = 2537 W

I'd just use four 600 W and call it a day.

8" blower and scrubber minimum with no intake fans needed.

For a 5x5 I'd go with a greater number of lights that are run at a lower amperage, spread out more evenly above the canopy. (If LED)

For HPS I'd use 4 250 watt lights. Then you would hit 1000 watts averaging 40 watts per sq ft, save a ton of money on a/c
This ensures that all the plants in the space can grow upwards equally, not crowd the center as well as have the same temp throughout.

He's in a 2m x 2m tent. He had it right with 4x 600w hps.
Led he'd be looking at 4x 300w +

Very old thread though
