3 Plant CFL

looks like a perfect time to transplant. depending on space, i just go for the 5 gallon buckets with wholes drilled in the bottom and around the edge( since your lst) just hop up to your final pot , whatever size you choose. they have enough stress between the lst, you dont want to add more to them. in my opinion pinching is like supercropping, you basically break the main steam and let it heal itself. two types of topping, the first being you cut the main stem right after the third or fourth node which will give you two cola site, and then you can do it again on both after three more nodes grow, to give you four cola sites. then there is FIM, which is almost like topping, but instead of cutting right under the node, you kind of cut in the middle of a node and it will grow into four cola sites. FIM is alot more technical and its jsut hard to explain, just google it. between LST and cropping, they could work miraces together and give you a nice decent yield. when any cropping FImming or anything is done, give at least two to three weeks before you go into flower.
soon pictures will show that i did a side crop, because in each node, more sets started coming out. i removed two of the 3leaf fan leaf sets on the side at my third node i believe to get more light and encourage to grow on the sides more then getting tall. Im gunna stay away from LSt, maybe jsut two branches thats it. but vertical space is not a problem for me its horizontal, im working with 4 feet wide, 2 feet deep

So my one plant in the white bucket is on a seven set, and side topped. It jumped from a 3 to a five to a seven right in a row.
The others are on five sets in the red bucket, but it doess look like it is a seven set

nice setup dude. cant wait till after christmas break and i can start my sog bottle grow under cfls.

yea i was thinkin about doin a sog on my next grow using 2 liters. maybe about ten plants, i do understand if i top them all right i can have 20 main colas and i can deal with that.

2 Liters suck :/ They're so tall! Make sure if you use 2 Liters that you poke wholes in the sides like air pots. I've grown several out this way, but I do have to say that the bottom 3-4 inches of soil never dried up....kind of made it hard to water. My last 2 Liter harvest was somewhere around 10 grams with 2 Main Colas.

How many 2 liters for the 10 grams

Everyone loves an update, so here it is. its been a month today, and i believe i have one female that i can see in the white bucket, the others are still not identified. I plan on starting to flower in a week or two. ill keep em vegging a little longer, they are looking healthy.

Looking just fine DO...The one in the white bucket looks like it's gonna be a keeper. I think I'm gonna go a few more weeks at least in the veggie process but I will let the plant decide. I hope to lst for a bit longer and right now I just training them across the pot. I just pinched them out and am hoping for some quick upright growth to tie back. My problem is that my buckets are only 2.5 gallon.
If nothing else they are healthy. Rock on....

Ive decided to go with a 3 day 12/12 to see if i can get the males outta there and start more

I had one male, and i pulled it. I transplanted a 2 week old topped and LST'd kush plant. Here's some pics!

Cool DO.. Did you back the light off for a couple of days to determine sex and did you go right back up when you knew? Your pinched plant looks good. I have not got around to setting my lights to 12/12. I really should do that today. Definitely going to have a pot full of roots. That one in the white bucket sure has leaves like a sativa.I'm still having temperature problems but the plants don't seem to notice. I get to 90 degrees hot and 50 degrees cold. I bought a little heater on line cause I think my nights are going to be chilly. It doesn't have a thermostat but I plan on using another timer to turn it on for a half hour a couple of times a night cycle. If my lights were not coming back on I think the temp would drop below 50. (arg)
Hey DO.. You don't know off hand if 2700K lights are truly cooler than a 6500K light? You think there will be a measurable temp change going from one to the other or is the temp the same?
Anyway, were right on schedule budski. I think my girls are doing just fine. I was just looking at the CFL tutorial and it says having the lights to close would result in a squat plant. WTF. It makes a little sense cause the lights not getting in there as well but I've worked hard to keep them tight. I pruned off some fan leaves a couple of weeks ago and they did not care. I never purposely defoliated a plant in my life but again WTF. Just messing around aren't we.

so saw your thread and thought id show a few picks of mine...grown in a wardrobe on its side with 15 75Watt CFL's and 1 blue light CFL..4 computer fans built into the back 2 incoming 2 out going...keeps my temps at 75 all day long. They are just about to be harvested so..happy dayz..!!

Looks good slim... I have 4 fans working as well but still can't get the temperature right. 1 of them is just circulating air But I need to make better use of it. 75 watts or equivalent? Have had trouble all along finding high wattage bulbs. I just went to the home depot and bought 16 bulbs. 100 watt equivalent but only 23 watt actual. Ha Ha... So much for cheap cfl grows. I could have bought a nice fat bag 4 what I have invested in this grow. I'm sure I have two benjamin's into it so I could be growing under 400 watts of mh. Oh well, next time.I don't think dirt on my buddage is going to be a problem dank. They are going to stand right up. Its actually surprising how fast they get their heads up. wtf anyway dank. I've smoked dirt weed before and I will again. lol. I hope they will be okay anyway.

why do you choose to run over a 1000watts cfl and spend more money when you could run a 150 or 250 watt mh/hps for half the price?
