Well.. bad day.

Tried to install a light bar. Got it up. Then tried to install the ballast. The light, and light bar came crashing down on top of the best plants I had. They snapped like twigs. Im so sad I could just cry. So many hours of hard work gone..

What state are you in now (if you don't mind my asking)
i dont want to be to specific, but a state in the ohio river valley. a very very red state lol. one that criminalizes me for my medicine and denies me and my partner any rights whatsoever that the average american enjoys

Well.. I have had a wild day today.

@MD914... what is topped? .... I know I will be looking that up the moment I finish writing this.. lol. :)

Well.. I have had a wild day today. While in the process of changing the room from a veg room to a flowering room, the hanging beam system I was using to hold all the lights fell. It flattened 8 plants. I was sick.. just sick. There were pieces of plants everywhere that had been snapped from the force of that huge hood. All the main tops were gone, and some of the lower leaves were still there. Barely anything, really. The light was hot, so all the plants were burnt as well.

I knew I had to take them out, they were destroyed. But I just lost it. I sat down and just started to cry. lol... and as I am typing, I am again crying. So much work. I had no bugs, everything looked green, lush, healthy. I was just sick. I just didnt have the heart to go clean up all the plants and throw everything out.

I got a book out, havent done that in years, read for about four hours.. time sorta got away from me because it was a good book.

I went to the grow room to turn out the lights before I went to bed, and looked where the light had fallen. It was unreal. Nearly all of the plants that had not been snapped off had pulled nearly all their remaining leaves up to the light. Those that had broken branches and looked destroyed had begun to lift to the light. Except where there is two plants that have nearly half their plant gone, its almost difficult to tell where the light hit. They may be tiny little plants now.. but they are weeds, and into flower we go!

Too funny... I loved my plants so much I didnt toss them all away when they were damaged.

You removed the tops of the plants (or rather your falling light did) and they will grow back 2 in it's place :) It's a method of training your plants. Don't throw them away...they will come back stronger.

Ok... I am new.. Everyone talks about "bud sites".... but... I have no idea where to look! Is it between the branches? And your photo gives me hope. Some of the girls look that full now.

Every node is a bud site...when you tie branches down those bud sites become main tops...and your yield gets much larger
That pic was taken about 5 weeks before I flipped the lights

Bubba... do you really think its going to go 3 pounds? I cant imagine that much finished flowers all at once.

I wonder what my ten plants will do? I am hoping that the girls were going to give me an oz each when I started growing... something tells me I am way underestimating..

this crop is my very first scrog after all, once i get the hang of it i dont think it would be a problem to beat the 1.3 gram/watt average i got using no advanced training techniques, xmas trees really.
