vegged for 28days, i wished i had vegged more, but they were like a exp.
Vegged for 28days? from seeds or clone? Did the plant show alternating nodes or preflowers before you switched to 12/12? or did you just screw it and flip the light anyway?

Plants can get pretty big vegging for 28 days under the right lights using quality seeds in the right system.

Here's a pic of a three 30-day old plants started from seed. They are over a foot wide and about 9-10" tall.

me too - i always say don't prune unless you have to and then still don't prune but this is a case of do as i say ... i yank'em cause the big fan leaves tend to get yellow and are the first to burn a little when i jack up the nutes. don't like the way i look so i yank them.

the plants seem to respond well to the pruning. they grow more nodes and get bigger every time i do it so what the heck! may have to add "don't prune" to the list of myths.

nice and tree-like! everything i do is indoors so i'm always aiming for plants that are short and fat (just like me!)

don't fret. it took me quite a few grows before i found what works for me.
but if you are interested - here are some details:
the space is about 3 x 4 x 8
Lights: Sun System 7 (dual-spectrum 600wHPS+400wMH)
Hydro: Rainforest 66 (holds six plants but i usually grow 3 at a time)
Nutes: General Hydroponics Flora Hardwater Micro, Grow, Bloom, Floralicious Grow and Bloom, KoolBloom and BioBizz RootJuice, Flora Kleen and Shield
air-cooled lights, heavy-duty exhaust fan, oscillating fan
walls covered in mylar
feminized PPP seeds

i will eventually get a journal going and will put more details/pix in there.

i pruned alot of my fan leaves on my plants and they seem to be ok. i kind of had to after a nasty case of mg deficiency, but i was worried about losing the solar panel effect and let them grow a little taller for new fanleaves.

now they are kind of big and i hope they dont get too out of control before they bud.

hmm, where was i going with this?

oh yeah on my plants that still have the fan leaves that blocked light from the branches, i just cut out the middle finger of the leaf and the branches grew right up through.

dont really know if this was advisable or not but it worked pretty well and didnt sacrifice any healthy fan leaves, short of a finger.

thanks for the info email I got a rough picture now. Alot of those products are not available here in this region, not only that, the temperatures are in the 90*F's.

I'm growin soil and am only using 3x150W MH 5000k lights, thinking of changing 2 bulbs to 10000k. Would that make my grow any better? (1st grow BTW) pics are available here, please let me know how i can improve my growing conditions. ---> https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/36974-1st-grow-1st-journal.html

Sorry crazy mental for the post hijack.
