3 White Widow DWC lots of pics!

i think i know what your talking about, those arent preflowers. soon youll see some calyx with pistils sticking out... this thread might be helpful to you http://www.420magazine.com/forums/budding-cycle/81272-female-pre-flowers-flowering.html
i hope everything goes well with your grow!!

im having some issues. alot of root rotting and i saw some fungus gnats on my roots!.. i bought some gognats and i added probably a little too much. its sort of clogging my airstones and making em worse than they were lol.. i didnt think hydro would be so difficult! constantly running into little problems lol... ive also been adding some 3% peroxide.. im not sure what else im gonna do.. i was either thinking of using something to flush my system but i cant take out all of the water and bucket since the plants are tied down, and the waterpump leaves a little remaining water with nasty pithium and dead roots in there..
i was also told to try hygrozyme but ive read alot of mixed reviews so im hesitant, but if it gets any worse ill have no choice!
Try 30% h202 that should help a little. What are your water temps looking like??

A flush would do some wonders, I use Clearex about once every 2 weeks and the plants love it...

I can see how changing the res is a problem when your plants are tied down, this is what ultimately stopped me from scrogging/hardcore lst'ing. Once you prevent the root rot from growing you wont really have to worry about rez changes as often. Try and figure out what is causing the root rot first and go from there. This is were I would start. My very first grow I had this problem and it was caused from the water temps exceeding 72 degrees. To fix the problem I change 2 frozen water bottles out of the rez 2-3 times a day, pain in the ass... i know but it beats having to spend a couple hundred bucks on a water chiller hahahaha.

I generally just rinse off my water stones with water every couple weeks once I begin to see a lot of smudge looking build up on them. If your air stones are being blocked from producing oxygen, this will also lead to really bad root rot. Make sure those roots are getting as much oxygen as they can get!

im liking what im seeing dude, i posted the pics of my root problems on my thread so u can see it there if you want. keep it up dude i hope you get some killer buds!

Sup man, with regards to the root rot, what type of air stone and pump are you using? My first grow went really well with the Active Aqua pump from Hydrofarm, then I switched to a Aqua Culture pump and airstone (from walmart) for a jalapeno plant and roots started to rot right away. The only difference I can see is that the air pump does not produce near enough bubbles as my Active Aqua pump. Im not sure if this was the problem but, thought I would chime in. It was the only common denominator if you know what I mean... Good luck bro!!

After looking through your photos again, I think it is odd that the grow box rez and rez lid are white!!!

Light + White Rez/White Rez Lid = Rapid Algae Growth (which results in root rot)

I have always been told that you need a Black Rez for DWC. I was told this is a must from the local hydro shop. Just another thought bro.

I've used this one one for my last 4 grows in DWC and have had no issues personally. As far as the res, it just needs to light proof - mine was blue, although I coverd the whole thing with mylar tape. I also use the ice-bottle system to control algae.

my 2 pennies - good luck!

It just seemed like it didn't produce enough bubbles when compared to my other one. I might be completely wrong. Just a thought really.

Haha my roots are fine. I already know the temperature is the cause of my root rot problems, if any :P. I've had this problem in the past but I have just gotten a lot more consistent with changing out the frozen water bottles as drunk mentioned ;).

Just a second ago I was checking out the ladies and noticed a funky looking leaf. Something is definitaely wrong I have just never seen this happen to any of my leaves before. Any advice on what could have caused this? My ppms are now about 2 EC (978 ppm .5 conversion) which I just increased fro 850 ppm. I was thinking I may have introduced to high concentrate of nutes. Any advice on what may have caused this? Thanks!! :) :)

Another leaf.

EC2 is 1400 ppm at the point seven conversion. If that is indeed White Widow, she is a finicky little bitch ime. I'd drop the nutes to an EC of closer to 1, at least 'til recovery. that surely looks like acute nute burn to me. Are those lower leaves? cn

Ok perfect.

Unfortunately I ran out of distilled water and had to use normal tap water (about 100 ppm .5) to help lower the total ppms. Right now its topped off sitting at about 850 (.5). Nothing has spread in the last couple hours. The lights are about to turn off here in about 5 minutes, hopefully I don't wake up to find a graveyard..

I think what happend was, when I went to add some nutes to bring the ppm I added them directly to the res rather than diluting them in some water first. The evidence is conclusive :P

The burns were closer to the top, one node down.

Good news, I checked today and everythings ok! She's looking fine as hell:).

First time that has ever happend to me and shit it sucked... I felt so hopeless like there was nothin I could do lmao. Poor babies :*(

Ok guys sorry its been so long sense I have updated but currently I am day 30 flower (69 from seed) and man I am trying my hardest to keep these ladies tied down. Check it out :D

At this point in time the one plant has taken over. I had to ditch it this morning :-/

yo reefer, ive been having height issues with mine, a pro grower told me to super crop the top of my branches and they will heal towards the light very quickly, but it will slow down the stretching for sure, you should super crop all of your tops, but very gently.. dont let the water get out, just pinch carefully untill you hear a little snap and bend it sideways, and the top will go back up within a day, and you'll get bigger colas.. u can check out one of the supercrops i did on the 2nd pic of this thread, it was completely sideways a day before..

Yo kobe, if you check out my 6th picture down you can see were I super cropped. Thats actually my favorite way to prune :D. I have super cropped throughout the whole duration of this grow. Its definitely the way to go.

good job reefer, your on top of your game arent you? supercropping, weights, lst, topping.. ur doing it all! keep up the good work man i hope we both have some nice harvests
