hey guys i bought a 300w blooming bulb (plus my 8 other small ones) cfl to fit into my hood but its heavy and sags i am affraid it the mogul socket might break off the hood. i will secure it better to the hood if i do go that route, but do you think i would get similar light and result if i just hang it vertical?i know a lot of light will be wasted. my grow box is a 2x2x4

2x2 is a tight squeeze for a vertical.
That being said, my first run at vertical was a 250wHPS in a 2x2x6 and i pulled a QP. And 2 of the 8 plants in there didnt yield anything. Like, nothing. weird genetics. They looked great in veg.
Anyways, yea, a 2x2 is doable, but a 3x3 would be better;.
