Where did you get the lights from? And are they red? I thought that it was best to use the blue ones for veg and the red ones for flowering. Or does yours have a mix of red and blue?

I have alot of experience growing with LEDs and I can tell you that this just doesn't look right. What people are telling you is true, blue is for vegging. Leds don't begin to work for growing canibus until the plants are AT LEAST 6" tall. I would recomend using cfl's this early in the grow if your are tight on money. If not Buy some more high powered lighting.(floros, MH/HPS, T5s). Thats good how you are putting the LEDs close up like that, but I'm sorry to have to tell you, your setup how it is now, just won't work. I have over 2000 LEDs in my grow box and still I supplement the LED's narrow band of light with aa HID bulb for power light penetration (lumens and lux). Check out my gallery and see what i'm talking about. -hope that helps

I wasn't trying to knock your grow and i had read that you were using enhanced output leds.
I have looked into leds extensively believe me and what the manufacturer fails to tell you when they say that they emit 15-20% more blue spectrum than normal red leds is the simple yet obvious fact that normal red leds only emit barely 1% blue in the first place this leads many people into believing that they have a 15% emission of blue from these leds.
This however is not true at all as it is a marketing wording trick relying on the masses bad maths skills and impulse buying and general lack of knowledge about the spectrum's and percentages that are involved.
The leds only actually emit 15-20% more of the original 1% that was already there so you actually only have an increase of

15% of 1%= 0.15%

So for all the extra money you paid for those you actually only got an increase of 0.15% which is totally negligible in all reality.

I was only offering real and honest advice and i watched your entire last grow as well and am very interested in led grows and did not intend to come across like i was right and you were wrong.

Anyway hope this helps and if you want quality led lamps make your own so you know exactly what your getting:blsmoke:

Do the led's run cool. If so can you move the lights closer to the tops of the plants. I was just wondering if they will stretch like when a cfl is too far away.

So i guess this thread makes it very clear that a marijuana plant will grow under purely red or blue light. It'll be interesting to see how things progress.
