Hey guys, sorry for the delay but you know all the Christmas business :) busy time of year lol

On that note Happy new year!

Here's an update for you!

Week 3.5 Flower:

So far so good, onto the bloom feed with big bud, doing a top up feed tonight and they should be good to go for another week or 2!

EDIT!

Right here you go as promised, it seems the basic up-loader always works, despite the rest being broken!

Just given them a double strength top up feed, they responded well to it last time so it should be good to go. PH is stable, seems to level out after the 2nd veg feed so about week 3 or 4, so I'm happy about that, makes hydro much easier! :)

Stay Frosty!

Thanks! it's a bit of a mess though! this pheno is quite difficult to train past a certain point, once the branches get fatter they seem to get more fragile closer to the tip unfortunately plus she's a mega bush so I just don't have enough holes in the bloody screen for all the tops!

how do u change ur res?
especially in an 20l oxy pot ?
for scrog?
I don't... I've found that doing top-up's of just water as it goes down is enough to sort out any salt build up issues as the nutrient solution is constantly being diluted. When the next feed comes it's pretty much all water in there so your pretty much nuting plain water :/

Another thing I've noticed is in doing the above, the PH range settles down and stays constant after about week 2 or 3, if I were to keep changing out the res it would be a bitch to keep re-adjusting, plus there's always the possibility of encouraging beneficial bacteria by not disturbing the water too much... Did the same in my previous DWC (also my first) and had no problems so hey it works and works well, for me :)

Coming up for Week 5 Flower:

Again so far so good, I guess it's not as interesting to keep seeing all is well but it's preferable to problems :)

Gave her a feed of double strength flower and the last dose of big bud until the end of flower now and there should be 1 full strength top up feed before the chop everything after that is just going to be topping up with plain water. I estimate approximately 3-5 more weeks until completion (this is only supposed to be a 6 week strain lol) but as we know it's best to make sure, just gotta keep an eye on her.

Got a touch of bleaching on some of the cola's but I don't think it's severe enough to warrant changing out the optics as she's nearly done and has pretty much finished growing up, just fattening up now!

Anyway enough jibber jabber here are some pics:

Thanks for keeping this journal relatively alive :)

Stay Frosty Guys!

Very nice. After you chop will you start again or do you wait awhile? Is it hard to harvest the buds. Does it come off the cage easy?

They come out easy, just chop the stems and pull them up, there are usually only a few tricky ones where the bud has grown around the metal and stuck a bit, but nothing a sharp tug doesn't fix.

I usually just clean up the box, diluted bleach in a spray bottle wipe down, clean the res, hoover up any dust, dirt, plant material etc from the floor, crevices and all that, then jam the next seed in some rockwool for the next round! So I'm pretty much on it straight after, especially considering how long the seedlings take to properly start, I don't like wasting time :)

So are you able to hang the buds or do you use a screen. Do you have to cut each bud off or can you still pull a stem out.

You have to pretty much cut each bud off, takes a little bit longer but it's no biggy. If you find a nice stem that's not tangled you can usually cut pretty much at the bottom of the stem and take them all out pulling them down, providing the tops fit through the screen!

I like to hang them to dry 'cause they just have better circulation than in my box and they tend to dry quicker with more space in the room and a proper fan blowing over them.

Ha demanding one aren't ya!

Yeah sorry been offline for a while, times flown being blasted off of this shit XD

Right so, harvest time came and went, buds have been chopped and dried, now curing and a few have been sacrificed to the flame! Good times.

This stuff knocks you off your feet, very potent couchy indica, haven't much to comment on the taste 'cause my taste-buds suck unfortunately! But so far I have a nice sweet exhale and aftertaste!

Anyway back to what you really want to see, just some various before during and after pics:

I think she went on until about week 8 or 9 of Flower, not sure just chopped when I thought they were ready at a good Amber/Milky - 60/40.

Took a good 4 hours to trim up, and I got plenty of trim for the ol' butter production XD.

The bleached ones look quite cool, no effect on the potency, she's still a lovely smoke, just waiting on a proper cure to get some more of that flavour out!

And Finally I stuck some sort of Critical Jack Herer or something like that in the box the day after the chop and clean for round 2 of LED goodness, going to put a Pineapple Express in there with her a few weeks into veg get a nice squat 2 litre hempy plant going on the blank part of the screen!

That looks like a great job what was the outcome on wet weight and dry
Thanks for stopping in!

If I knew I'd tell ya, I can only speculate as to the wet weight, Id say 12-15oz but then about 75% of that is lost as it dries... From past experience and the amount of jars I've filled, and how hard the nugs are, I'd guess around 3-4oz of dried cured goodness, will be weighing at some point I'll post a more exact number when that happens, providing I haven't smoked it all beforehand lol :)

Thanks to everyone for keeping this thread going!

Round 2 LED will be coming up soon... sorry I can't update as much as I used to but hey work permitting I'll be on and off :)

Until next time, Stay Frosty!
