3rd True Grow: California Orange Bud and Sleeping Beauty

Soil: Frey's special Blend

Nutes: Shultz liquid plant food 10-15-10 for veg
Shultz Bloom Plus plant food 10-54-10 for flower

Grow Room: Converted closet to dual veg and bloom grow chambers with built in shelves and white latex walls. 2ft deepX10 ft wideX8 ft high. in the process of caculating for a perpetual garden

Lighting: 1 4ft shop light with 2 t8 6500k floro tubes
8 32 watt 6500k floro spiral bulbs
1 400 watt high pressure sodium compact floralux system

Strains: Sleeping beauty (mostly indica) very short
California orange bud (mostly sativa) medium heighth

Light Cycles: 24/7 for clones and seedlings
18/6 for mature plants and mothers
12/12 for flowering or determining sex

I am now starting a new grow i have learned to clone using an inexpensive technique. and took 5 clones from the first female Cali Orange Plant which is still in fower at a differant location.

2 weeks ago i cut the tops of of those clones and cloned the tops and threw away the rest. I also planted some sleeping beauty seeds i got from a buddy of mine.

Day 1:

sleeping beautys a and b just popped up above the soil two days ago and are and inch tall even today the only difference is the leaves which are really short and wide.

the cali orange clones ( 5 of them) are also starting to grow roots just below the surface of the soil there are little points pokin out from the sides of the stems. and there is also some new foliage.

i have planted two more cali orange seeds for more mothers to see if there is any difference in the seeds for example: color or potency of taste or high. they just cracked open today and should be poking up above the dirt pretty soon.

I will be posting picks of the plants, clones, and grow room setup in a few days and i will be harvesting my first cali orange plant in 2 weeks, i will also be posting the yeild.

Day 11 Oct. 31, 2008

Strains:
3 California orange bud from clones --- flowering in 2 to 3 weeks.
2 california orange bud from seeds
2 Sleeping beauty bud from seeds
2 Sweettooth'08 bud from seeds

ORANGE BUD clones
clones have successfully rooted and started to grow some new foliage. they all stand about 6 inches tall. clones 1,2,and 3.

SLEEPING BEAUTY seeds
The sleeping beautys a and b are both working on there 4th nodes and stand about 3 inches tall. very indica dominate strain. they seem to be doing alot better than the one i have grown before. i think it just has unstable genetics.

SWEETTOOTH
planted two seeds i got from my first grow which i have named SweeTooTH'08. i think the plant was pollinated my a orange bud male. i planted these seeds three days ago and they already sprouted above the dirt. this is gonna be a fun strain to grow. these of course were the only two seeds i got from the whole plant. it was already a very sweet tasting plant.

the two seeds i have planted are working on their third nodes and stand about 2 1/2 iches tall they look different in genetics so hopefully its prettier weed lol.

I will be posting pics as soon as i can get a chance to. i have to use the internet at my buddys house so its kinda hard to keep updated.

this would be the veg chamber....yeah i kno its pretty empty right now but once i get my light and shit back it'll pumping out loads of buds.

thats all the shot for the plants and grow chambers. here are some pics of the light I built using three sockets 3 ft peice of plywood and socket spliter so i could put two bulbs to a socket. im using 32 watt 6500k cfls.
this light is very effective and with six bulbs i can sustain 6 small plants untill mature enough to sex.


11/6/08--- Day 17
all the plants are doing very good i'll have the measurements on tomorrow or later on tonight. the converted closet is working out great compared to the first true grow. this is the same closet as before but cleaned out.

i cleaned all the junk out of it and stored it elsewhere. i got some flat white moldicidal latex paint to cover the walls for increased brightness and extra protection against mold. I built a frame for the veg chamber so i could build in a plywood shelf to set plants on. i also lined the ceiling with 1 inch plywood to secure the light hooks into it so they dont pull out of the drywall. and i built and adjustable chain shelf for the flower chamber incase i need to bring it up closer to me to work on plants. i predrilled holes for ceiling hooks so i can move the lights around whenever i needed to in both sides of the grow rooms.

The pics were taken last night so the plants look pretty much the same.

People, let me kno what you guys think of the setup and my babies.

C'mon people, look at it! look at it now. some input would be awesome.

I think the shit looks great and easy on an electricity bill. With a 400W MH and a 1000W HPS the bill gets outrageous, so I commend you for your setup and keeping track of your genetics.

I'll be hookin up the 400 watt hps when my last flowering plant in a diff location is finished on the 16. its not that bad only 15 extra bucks per month.
