what would be better for 3x3 tent a combination of 400w hps cooltube reflector and some leds(don't know which size just something to compliment the hps), or 600w cooltube reflector by itself. Which do u think would be worth it if somebody already had the 400 hps?

Why not a 600w with some LEDs? If it were me though id go with the 600.

I have a 3x3 tent with a 600w open wing fixture with some LEDs, an outake fan and a fan blowing over my plants and it does great. 600 will probably give you better quanity and bit better quality. Hope this helps. Good luck

all of your options will work, if you can fill your space completely with enough plants or big enough plants then use all the lights you have as long as it does not make things too hot
if you end up with smaller plants then perhaps the 400w will be enough

I was wondering how much difference in quality the leds have and also have read that they add extra density to nugs. Just seeing if I could find some first hand experience on the issue. Im thinking a guy would be good with getting the 600 then get rid of the 400 for money for leds later. Idk just thinking for future reference. I appreciate all the responses and help. Does it make much of a difference if a guy is thinking of scrogging in this tent, would that change anyone's opinion?

Tbh led lights can get very expensive for good ones. The cheap ones don't work well for flowering. With LEDs you truly get what you pay for. What led did you have in mind?

I don't have any picked out I have just read that u can mix hps and led for good results and I couldn't find any specific answers to the situation I've been thinking about. Probably nothing to major if anything a few decent small ones just to give the extra kick of the led spectrums. What would u suggest for that scenario?

I own a solar storm 440. IMO its pretty kick ass. Its 340 watts at the plug. They have a smaller version. The 220 and the 110. The go for about $450 and 225 respectively. The big thing in LEDs now is white and white/ red LEDs. Never used them but there are great grow on this forum using area 51, Hans panels, apache tech. These are supposed to be the future of led lights. Good luck.
