Nearly all marijuana in the beat generation had seeds. Marijuana cultivation was still in its infancy in the States.Maybe they were breeding for seedstock?
Kesey kept the bus in a swamp for years, so it was obviously no good. But his son seems like the type to save some for sentimental value.
