ok my first grow is almost done and for my next grow I will be going to a 4x4 table drip style hydroponics.

I have a couple questions for the experts.

how many plants can i use on a 4x4 table to get my max yeild.
And is 400hps enough lights or will I need more.

And how big will the plants get in a one gallon pot.

HI TIM...

more light will equal larger buds and larger yields.. 4x4 is a good size... and a 1000 watt bulb would be perfect!! 400 is ok :)

if you are going to grow 16 plants in 1 gallon containers you will want to flower when the plants are 6-10 inches tall or 4-8 nodes.. which ever occurs first..

cheers

got 21 plants in a 3 x 3 600w with mylar on three sides and the light 4" above plants. i clone, let roots cover the whole outside of cubes before planting in 6.5 inch soil filled pots. then they go directly into my flower room. they reach 16-20" when starting with a 4" clone. i'm at week 5 and things are looking incredible. crystals all the way to leaf tips buds tighting up nice. hoping to average 1 once per plant.

Great thanks for the info guy's.
I was planing at starting at 20 plants in the 4x4 tray. right now my 5 sqft dwc is packed with 6 plants in it so I dont know if I can go with anymore than 20 plants in a 16 sqft space. But it looks like i can if fdd2blk can fit 21 in a 3x3. Thanks for the tip on starting at 4 inches.

So how many can I fit on the 4x4 tray in one gallon pots

my lights come on at 8 tonight. i'll get some photos out then. meanwhile i'll let you know a few things. i'm growing in soil. hand watering. pots are up 2 inches off floor on aluminum grating for air flow. i started with 7 plants, waited 2 weeks, added 7 more than 2 weeks the other 7. this way i have a little more room. i can arrange and tie down and trim to get the best light coverage. i have 3 different grow areas: cloning 24hr cycle, veg 18/6, and flower 12/12. i'm trying to get a steady flow of a couple ounces/ 1/4lb every two weeks or so. the only problem i running into is feeding. everyone is on a different regimen. i'm the mad mixologist when it comes time to water. i have to keep 3 jugs of different blends and then blend those per plant. but hey that's half the fun.

found a photo from a week or so ago. more to come.

in a 4x4 room would 2 400 watt lights be better then 1 1000 watt? And if so you would be using less power.

It depends on how big you are going to grow your plants.. but in most circumstances a 1000 watt bulb would be the better choice.. cola sizes, and cola weight will be MUCH larger with a properly ventilated 1000..
