400 watt closet perpetual

I grew one photo plant last year in DWC and got pretty good results ending with a little over 6 zips. This time I am going to be growing 2 generations of 4 plants of autoflowers in soil. I am going to grow Dutch Passion's auto blueberry and since it is a ten week strain I will separate the generations by five weeks.

I am going to use Fox Farm's ocean forest soil with Fox Farm's Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom.
If anybody has any experience with this I'd appreciate the input.

I'm going to use a 400w HPS (soon I'll get a full spectrum HPS) and a digital ballast.

I germed four seeds in paper towels and all four cracked so I just put them in soil yesterday.
I'll post pics when they come through the ground.

All comments are welcome.

I'm still waiting on plant 1 to come through the soil but the other three sprouted yesterday.
I'm not too worried though because that was the last seed to germinate. If it doesn't sprout over night I'll start germing another seed.IMG_0507.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg

Just posting an update. They are 10 days old and looking good. I water lightly daily when the lights turn on. The photos go in order plant 1,2,3,4. All comments are welcome.1_10days.jpg2_10days.jpg3_10days.jpg4_10days.jpg

It's day 14 and I kinda messed up. I've been overwatering but no big deal I'll let them dry out a day or two. Here are the pics, the order is plant 1,2,3,4 and all.1_14days.jpg2_14days.jpg3_14days.jpg4_14days.jpgIMG_0519.jpg

Hey man, good luck on the grow, thanks for your post on my thread and figured I'd check out your grow since I also have some autoflowers going. I'm growing 2 G-13 Labs Poison Dwarfs, trying to get more seeds so I can grow them outdoors in quantity next summer. Have you grown autoflowers before? What kind of yield do you expect per plant? My plants look like they'll each yield an eighth and look seedy as hell, which is what I want this time around, as you can't mother and clone out the autoflowers. My plants are 68 days old from starting the seeds. I've never grown for seeds before, so can only guess that I have a week or 2 left before the seeds mature. Many have already exposed out of the seed pods, but they're all still green. Did a shitty job of keeping track of this grow so I don't really know when they started flowering. Anyway, I'm curious to see how yours will turn out, and how big or small other autoflower strains are. All my poison dwarfs I've grown so far have been under a foot tall, males get maybe 15 inches. Insane!

You do not clone autoflowers. They mature with age not photoperiod. PH is a measure of how acidic or alkaline a solution is...

Cool, never grown them before. You'll obviously be planting new seeds for every new generation in the perpetual harvest then. An interesting way to do it.

Must make timing tricky, like if you have beans that wont crack quickly or not at all.

Anyway, love a good perpetual harvest. Here's mine from a few years back. Done the standard way with clones and a mother. Good luck, I'll be following along.

Actually I've been thinking about growing 5 in the 3.4l pots (what they are in now) and only transfer 4 to 3 gallon pots. Then that 5th plant is like free weed :)

Welcome, those seeds sound good I want to try black jack auto by sweet seeds. I think when autos first came out they were a lot more sketchy, but if you get them from a good breeder they should be backcrossed a bunch and pretty consistent.
