I would DEF top once or twice.

yea im gonna top once at least if the plants ready to be topped,i top after the 3rd node so like the 4th node would be cut off.hopefully they grow under the cfls.my friend wont be here with teh stuff until tomorrow around 630 PM so i have to wait for the cfls and have to run teh hps until then just so they r getting light

I like to cut the 2nd node off. I cut the whole top off a newborn and just left the sprout leaves and It worked too.

The earlier the better because you will be able to do the next cut sooner.

Have you looked up "fimming" its the new topping.

yea ive fimmed in previous grows,i did it quite well to the last time i attempted the special kush,fimmed 2 plants my first 2 trys,and had 6 colas each plant lol.

So all 3 plants r showing today,almost fully ready to take in light.By the end of the day they will be ready to veg!!!getting my cfls back soon for the veg,and buying the stuff from home depot today to make the carbon filter and also maybe buying a venting kit!

They sell solar testers for like 15 bucks you can test that light and ballast with.

Ok so I built my own DIY Carbon Filter went to home depot and menards for the supplies.it looks really good,got a sweet 4 inch inline fan for it,cut an exhaust hole into the wall and used a pipe vent to vent into the wall,wondering if itll drop temps at all if not itll be a good carbon filter,diagnosed will update pics as soon as he gets home

It sounds like you are doing it all right except for using Miracle Grow if I understood you correctly.
MG sucks... Go to your local hydro store or nursery and get some better soil.

so i decided to take down the cfls,2 cfls wouldnt do much damage on the plants so i put the hps back up,gonna have to deal with the heat i guess and try all sorts of things to help.Might have to cancel the grow due to heat but idk yet,maybe not.im gonna let it go as long as I can.They r cute arent they hehe

So just now I went into the grow room and the temps werent as hot for some reason so it looks like the exhaust i built is working a little.and also I left the closet open for like 5 mins and it dropped from 98 to 88 in that 5 min span so i guess this grow can work if i keep the door open a crack like i just did.So yay i can continue to grow im so happy!!!!

Ok so here is the HOMEMADE Carbon Filter I made,All parts were bought from Diagnosed cost like 60 bucks for the whole thing!!!Looks like itll work,the fan works i wired it myself with the wires from one of my old CFL fixtures thati made awhile back.80 CFM fan 4 inch inline.Activated Carbon Filter and some duct tape lol,blew smoke into it and filterd out some of it but thats expected no smell though.Gonna use it for flowering to see if it catches the smell if not gonna buy an ona gel too.but it should work still got 3 more carbon filter material to make 3 more or double wrap this one or even quadruple wrap it if need be.heres some pics let me know what ya think!!!

i just saw your thread, didnt get a chance to read it much but i wanted to give you some words of encouragement.


the special kush number 1 (if from royal queen seeds) is absolutely awesome. i got it as a freebie, harvested about 2.5 weeks ago, let it dry for 4 days, jar'd and burped alot for cure. and it now smells like fucking original lifesafers. like in the red and striped wrapper. all my friends love it and my friends mom from hawaii just bought a half from me after she opened the jar. and she "quite" smoking ten years ago. lol


it fills out fat too, the buds will need to be suppported probably, one of the LOWER buds got so heavy it broke off at the main stalk. it finished at 8 weeks too.


i wish i would have taken a clone, see, some things that are free are priceless lol

Ok so update,the 3 lovely ladies r looking pretty,still small but getting bigger as time goes on.The temps are perfect now,last night they were spiking up to 103 but a little crack of the closet door and they dropped down to 88.then went from 88 to 78 during lights off and now it wont go above 81 with the door cracked!!!So happy to have fixed the heat issue,now for a long exciting journey!!!BTW started germing the freebie we got from attitude the California Hast plant Feminized should be planting it today seeing as its already almost fully germed.

Just planted the Dinafem California Hash PLant Feminized.The tap root was very nice looking on this freebie seed,looked better then the other 3 seeds this grow.The 3 plants have grown bigger since the pics were taken,the first true set of leaves(not the cotlyedons) are getting bigger as time goes.The heat is still managed so im very happy,just got done watering as well.

So heres another update this time with Pics,sorry if they arent perfect the HPS affects the camera.

Ok so heres hwat my strains should look like at the end,we will see the final result when the time comes!!!

Update:
The plants are growing bigger every hour.One of them has HUGE leaves like really fat,the other 2 skinnier ones fatter i can tell which ones are indica,sativa,and indica dominant.got one of each lol.pics as soon as i get a cam or diagnosed comes over!
