the lights just turned off for the night, officially making it 3 weeks into flower. heres some pictures without that awful yellow hps glow haha.
How much vertical space do you still have to spare to get ya through the rest of flower? It's hard to tell from the pics....plants look outstanding though. As those big finger colas fill out, I think you are going to be one happy roll it up'er on harvest day.

This is really cool to be able to follow your grow man with us both working outta the same model of tent. I myself just made a trip to the hydro store for the first time today in 4 years and I got my light hangers, ph up and down, insulated ducting, and some clamps for the insulation. Just gotta get some dirt, pots, nutes, ph pen, MH conversion bulb and I'll be rolling right along with ya sir!

really interested in this grow, im grabbin a 400 watt system soon to add to my mix. growing with cfls right now but i like them, nice tight node structure so im sticking with them for my veg room, im gunna keep up on this grow, looks good, keep it up

I'd say i have about a foot left of vertical space so i think im looking good. Thanks alot for the feedback. Let me know when/if you start up a thread and i will definitely check it out. I'm glad you could use my grow as a reference as you build your setup. It sounds like you are really close to getting started!

Today is day 30 of flower, they look really good. I figure I'm about half way through flower at this point. I just watered them this morning and they got there nutrients. Im noticing gnats here and there, its not too bad yet, but i know from previous experiences how fast the problem can escalate. Does anybody have any good advice on how to get rid of them. I have used sand on top of the soil before and it worked pretty well, but i just feel like i was suffocating the roots, however i am using smart pots which have great aeration. I have heard that if you put an inch layer of perlite on top of your soil, that will help get rid of them because it prevents the adults from getting to the soil to lay eggs, and the ones in the soil from getting out???? All i know is i need to figure out what im going to do about it really quickly so i can take car of it before it gets out of hand and i have to pick gnats off my buds every day!!! Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated
peace

damn those girls look sexy, try to keep your temps below 75 and gnats should be few and far in between. as for the ones that live, i suggest sticky yellow fly traps, may take a few days, but definitely gets the job done. had some in my tomato planter last season and had to change it every 2 weeks it was black with them.

girls look great man keep it up till the end, im almost at the same point so i can guess how exciting this is getting for you:D

pics look great, i agree with the sticky tape, should eliminate your issue without doing anything to the soil. with the maintainence of air temp and tape you should be right as rain!

Long time no update. sorry to anyone who has been following along. But the ladies are doing great! I'll probably feed them once more and than just go with plain water up until harvest. My friend took some pretty cool pics with his macro lens. let me know what you guys think!

I will probably be chopping them in the next few days. i think the colors came mostly from genetics but im not completely sure. my temps would drop considerably at night.

Can't wait to see mason....I got my grow up going @ day 38 in veg. Planning to go another week so I can determine which are the males. I only got 7 left after eliminating 5 ugly stragglers so I'm hoping for at least 4 females to drop into 5 gallon containers soon then I'm gonna let 'em bush out a bit more for a week and a half then into flower. Really excited to see what your dry harvest weight is b/c I'm in the same tent only I'm using a 600. Anyhow, great looking grow there Mason, keep up the good work.

I have the same amount of room, maybe a little more with one plant. Just curious, how much do you think you will yield?
Just wondering if I should maybe go with more plants but a smaller size rather than just one big one.

Well man, I started with 12 and eliminated several stragglers that just weren't doing anything and I'm down to 6 now. Got 2 more stragglers I will probably eliminate so I'm looking at 3-4 going into full flower in 5 gal. buckets. You can grow 1 plant to get a LB off of if ya want...you just have to veg it long enough and optimize your grow space. The only downside with a 1 plant grow is that if you have trouble with that 1 plant and things go south, you put all your eggs in 1 basket and that could spell trouble. But that's basic risk and reward eh? I hope to pull down at least 6 ounces being that it's my first grow, I'm not expecting anything spectacular but 6 ounces would certainly make jonny very very happy. 10 ounces is where I want to be though.

I just chopped them tonight. I will post some pictures up as soon as i get a chance. They look great and the smell off of them is amazing. I cut the plants at the base and hung them upside down, whole. I will do all the trimming when they are dry (though, ill probably pull off big fan leaves as they dry out completely).

my total dry weight off the 5 plants was just under 8 ounces. I know i could probably do better, but i was really happy with those results!!! im out of town while my stuff is curing. ill post up some nice pics of the buds when i get back home.

That's damn good action mason! I'm running a 600w in the same tent and I've got 3 ladies about 6 days into flower. I sure hope I can pull off what you did with that 400. Your grow is definitely an inspiration to all of us here on RIU!
