400w 12 inches 31c or 18 inches 29c

Ok just wondering which is better, having my 400w which is in a cooltube dangling 18 inches from my canopy giving a canopy temp of 29c or having it 11-12 inches with a temp of 31c. Btw 29c is 85f and 31c is 88f.

What do you guys think? Quite a few inches back for only a smal difference in temperature.

Myself i'd go with 11-12 inches with a temp of 31c

ok, they do seem to have been growing ok at a bit above that but ill give it a few days at this distance back if you guys think its gonna get me a better yield even with much less lumens.

In a cooltube? You need better exhaust if your temps are that high. Best range for 400W is around 12". Can go as low as 6" if you have properly cooled lamp. Below 6" you may get light bleaching.

Yeh my fan is the problem but i cant afford to upgrade right now so which is the better option in my circumstances?

Still in veg or EARLY flower? Drop it down. If later in bloom leave it up as THC degrades above 85F

You need to sacrifice light for atmosphere. Plants don't need mass intensity anyway.
